Attention All ScoutsGirl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, etc... should wear their uniform to school on Friday, November 10 for the Veterans Program. The scouts will all participate in saying the Pledge of Allegiance. Some will participate in the posting of the colors.The students are welcome to bring a change of clothes to changinto after the program.
A HUGE THANK YOU to all the volunteers this month. Veterans’ Day Celebration is Scheduled for November 10th
On Friday, November 10, 2017 Lindsey Elementary will hold a celebration to honor Lindsey family members who have served or are currently serving in the military. Letters went home about this event in Tuesday folders last week. This is just a reminder that we need all RSVPs returned to school by October 27th. Students and Veterans may also send COPIES of photo-graphs to be displayed in our school as a part of a Veterans’ Honor Wall. If you have copies of photos you’d like included as a part of our school display, please send them to the Lind-sey office by Friday, October 27th. Please attach the name of the Veteran featured in the photo, his/her dates of service, and the military branch in which he/she served to the photo. We invite families to submit copies of photos regardless of whether your Veteran can attend our assembly. We look forward to honoring veterans from Lindsey families this year. We just wanted to remind everyone that AISD Gifted and Talented and Assessment Department will be coordinating upcoming Kindergarten CogAT testing at your campus. All AISD Kindergarten students will be administered a CogAT aptitude test during the weeks of November28 – December 11, 2017. Parents can view the informational letter via Skyward & Family Access the week of November 6 - 10th. This test will be administered in groups at each campus. If you have any questions, please feel free to let us know.

SPELLING BEE
Have you heard the buzz?
It’s almost time to start studying for the Little Lone Star and Lind-sey Lone Star Spelling Bee! Lindsey Elementary will be sending its top speller and one alternate on to the regional Scripps competition on March 24. Classroom bees will be the week of December 4th-8th, grade level bees will be December 14th and 15th, and the school bee will be January 11, 2018. Please note, you must turn in a per-mission slip to participate in any of the bees! (Permission slips will be distributed in Tuesday folders and available online soon.) Study spelling words will be available from your child’s teacher, and the bee rules are available on the Lindsey home page.

School spirit is the positive attitude students and teachers have about their school.
School spirit helps bring together different groups of students and unite a school.
One Friday a month, the class, in each grade level,that has the most student participants will receive a Spirit Stick and a month long of bragging rights!

Dear Lindsey Elementary Parents,
We are currently promoting registrations for the Rudolph Run. This is an annual event hosted by the City of Allen. Our school’s P.E. program will get a small portion from each application that’s turned in. This year the run is set for Saturday, December 2th.School registration forms must be submitted by Wednesday November 1st. Registration will be open until November 19th to be guaranteed a T-Shirt. It is $15.00 for the Fun Run (1 mile) and $25.00 for the 5K Run. You can always register past that date but T-shirts will not be guaranteed and Lindsey Elementary won’t get credit.Forms will be sent home in Tuesday Folders. They can also be found on our school website, my website or your child can pick one up in the Gym. Checks should be made payable to the CITY OF ALLEN. We regretfully cannot accept cash payments.
