    Vice mayor Isko arrested in Manila

    MANILAVice Mayor Isko Moreno and 5 councilors were arrested in Sta Cruz Manila on

    Saturday for allegedly being involved in an illegal gambling activity.

    They were released the following day for lack of evidence.

    The Commission on Elections (Comelec) said those who believe that Manila Vice Mayor

    Isko Moreno committed an election offense for holding a bingo event can file a complaint

    Drafting a new autonomous law: Aquino seeking balance

    Tuburan mayors allies defend use of funds

    ALLIES of Tuburan Mayor Democrito Diamante in the municipal council described as

    baseless and politically motivated the graft complaint filed by Tuburan Councilor Marie

    Tabotabo before the Ombudsman-Visayas.

    Councilor Sesinando Potencioso Jr said the medical mission held last Feb. 4 to 8 that was

    Radaza holds off on road concreting project

    WORK on the road concreting project in the busy Maximo Patalinhug Avenue, Lapu-Lapu

    City was suspended after Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Paz Radaza refused to allow its

    completion.

    Radaza said while the Maximo Patalinjug Avenue is not fully concreted, its asphalted part

    can still be used by motorists.

    She said if the road concreting project resumes now, it will worsen traffic in the city.

    The mayor said the Feb. 25 start of minor repairs and asphalting of the old Mandaue-

    Mactan bridge will worsen traffic congestion especially for motorists heading to Lapu-Lapu

    BACOLOD CITYA town mayor in Negros Occidental has warded off allegations that he

    maintains a private army, saying his men have licensed firearms.
