A local woman, raised in Austin, Texas, with stops in both Los Angeles and New York, agreed to chat with us about her special relationship with YETI.

Here is the exclusive transcript from that day …

Channel 84 reporter Nancy Hicks-Gribble provided the following statement:

“I wanted to meet Deborah. She had a lot of courage, ya’ know, a real sense of she knew what she wanted, knew what she loved, and would fight for it. I get that, shoog! Of course, I thought it was a bit ‘curious,’ her bond with YETI, but I’m a professional journalist…I go wherever the story takes me.”

Deborah: Thanks! That’s Bristol and that’s Stella.

Nancy: Just adorable. Umm, YETI’s here?

Deborah: Always!

Nancy: Okay. And so, how does your family feel about YETI?

Deborah: They love YETI. They get it…they understand. And my best girlfriend, she’s like, Deborah, don’t hold out, where can I get my own YETI?

Nancy: Well, how did you get or come to know YETI?

Deborah: I was on a blind date…a picnic at Zilker Park…and YETI was there with another woman.

Nancy: Oh! So YETI was loved by another?

Deborah: Sure was! I guess I kind of stole YETI. I didn’t set out to. But so rugged and strong…how could I help myself, right? And like any relationship, it has gotten stronger over time.

Nancy: Oh, shoog! The things we do for love?

Deborah: Yep.

Deborah: Look, any time you have something special that challenges the old tried and true, there are going to be haters. “Haters gonna hate.”

Nancy: Oh! My Dale loves that movie!

Deborah: Taylor Swift made a movie?

Nancy: Uhhh.

Deborah: Never mind. It’s okay.

Nancy: And so you went to the Capitol, and brought YETI with you?

Deborah: I thought it was past time for the Legislature to declare “Love YETI Day.”

Nancy: Shoog, how did that go?

Deborah: Great! There are hundreds of thousands of YETI lovers in Texas alone…and millions the world over. It’s just a matter of time. You’ll see…very soon we will have a “Love YETI Day.”

Nancy: From your lips, shoog. Listen, do you mind if I get a bit, well, personal?

Deborah: Not at all. 6

infauxview transcript (continued)Nancy: Well, and it could just be a rumor, but I heard…was wondering, and our viewers demand to know, do you sleep with YETI?

Deborah: Of course I do! Camping?! It’s cold outside! How else do you keep things not just warm, but hot…you know what I mean?

Nancy: In the same tent?

Deborah: Sometimes together…sometimes apart. It just depends.

Nancy: But sometimes it’s too hot. Like desert-hot!

Deborah: That’s Texas and California for sure! And YETI is there, too. Making sure my iced tea, water, or iced coffee are the perfect temperature. All day, I might add! YETI…so dedicated to my comfort. I’m really lucky!

Nancy: Any little YETIs?

Deborah: Well, I’m really happy with my big YETI. But I think about smaller YETIs, too. We’ll see. See how my needs grow…nice to know there are lots of options!

Nancy: Tell me a great YETI story! 7

infauxview transcript (end)Deborah: There are so many! YETI’s been with me at sporting events, weddings, cross-country trips, family holidays! But this one is really sweet: When I first started spending time with YETI, I knew how I felt, but there were others, you know, just used to other types, I guess. I brought YETI with me to a three-day horse clinic, and one dusk, around the campfire, this sweet girl came over with a big smile on her face and she just jumped on YETI! Started climbing all over…she loved YETI too!

Nancy: That’s so nice, shoog.

Deborah: And soon all of these kids and their parents, grandparents, dogs…were crawling and jumping all over YETI…having the best time! I don’t know, it might have been the acoustic guitars – the cooling of a Texas day – the joyfulness of the fire – or the spirited horses settling in with soothing neighs after a hard day… But whatever it was? It was special.

Nancy: Children…little ice breakers is what they are.

Deborah: Uh-huh. But they didn’t break YETI. And I agree, “The children are our future…” (Four-minute break in the infauxview as Deborah – and her dogs – sang “Greatest Love of all.”)

Nancy: Precious! So…time to see YETI?

Deborah: Of course, Nancy! Why don’t we grab a couple of ALAMO beers out of the cooler too!

Nancy: Sounds great, shoog!
