From the President’s Desk:
Dear SITians,
I wish one and all of SIT Family a HAPPY TAMIL NEW YEAR.
First of all, I would like to share the progress of the construction work of open air
auditorium. Though there was delay of one year due to corona, at present, there is
an appreciable progress in construction work of open air auditorium. The roof at 10
feet level over the toilet portions of the stage of the auditorium got completed. Now
centering work to lay the roof at 16 feet level over the entire portion of the stage is
nearing completion and the concreting is planned in a couple of days.
I feel happy to note the numerous positive responses against my appeal, from
several alumni and wish to thank each alumnus from the bottom of my heart
for their gratitude and contribution to the construction of open air auditorium as
per the list of alumnus contributed indicated in subsequent pages. I personally
met several alumni at their residences and offices who responded positively.
The details of the events & other activities during this quarter are presented in
this issue. Once again, I appeal to all our Alumni to come forward to contribute
their might for the construction of the auditorium in our SIT Campus, so that the
work can be accelerated and project can be completed at the earliest. Our target is
to finish the construction of open air auditorium Stage Portion in all respects
before 31-10-2021, the remembrance day of our former Principal Sri.ANC. Bank
details etc. are furnished at the end of this issue.
The Academic work is also going on well, with due care taken by
Sri.G.M.Rajendran, Hon. Secretary, SES, Dr.K.Vijayakumar, Principal-I/C,
Dr.V.G.Ravindhren Vice Principal and their team. I wish all students of SIT; take
the best of the facilities to shape themselves as promising professionals and
leaders in their chosen profession.

I would like to share with all of you, that we successfully completed 7 years in publishing SITAAVOICE since formal registration. At this juncture, I sincerely
thank all Alumni , EC Members, Dr.K.Vijaykumar, Principal I/C, SIT and his
team’s support. Now I feel happy to release this issue as scheduled. To know the

Message from Secretary SITAA
Dear SITians,
I was elected to succeed (Late) Sri.M.Duraivel, whose sudden demise
left both his family and SITAA in a state of shock and grief from
which we are yet to recover as Secretary, SITAA in the recent AGM.
I thank each alumnus and in specific all office bearers for their
confidence reposed in me to hold this responsibility. I will make the
best of my efforts with due diligence to take the Association forward in helping
poor students, honoring meritorious students and funding projects to help SIT to
enhance quality of education with the guidance of Senior Alumni and suggestions
from all.
I seek the cooperation of all Alumni in carrying out my duties on behalf of SITAA.

Online Examinations - Autonomous Term Examination for the students were
conducted through online mode from 21-12-2020 onwards till the first week of
January 2021. Subsequently the Central Valuation was conducted in the 2nd
week of January 2021. The college was reopened for the final year students on
18th January, 2021 after the lockdown imposed due to Covid-19
Republic day celebrations : 72nd Republic day was celebrated in a humble way
with hoisting our national flag by Dr.K.Vijaykumar Principal-i/c honoring with the
salute by NCC students.

69th Annual Day Celebrations at SIT
On 27-01-2021,( as 28-01-2021 was declared holiday of TN Govt.) SIT celebrated
its 69th annual day in a humble way with all preventive measures due to corona
pandemic. The 69th Annual day was celebrated on 27/1/2021. Thiru R. Raja Manohar, Executive Director(Rtd), BHEL Trichy was the Chief Guest. Thiru
R.Goplalakrishnamani , HOD i/c First Year welcomed the gathering.
Sri.G.M.Rajendran , Hon. Secretary, presided over the function. In his address he highlighted credits of our founder and his entrepreneurial ventures. The chief
guest enumerated the qualities, the students should develop to become a
successful in their career. Principal Dr.K.Vijaykumar presented the annual day report. SIT Rathna award for the year 2021 was presented to Sri.Babu
Rengarajan, an outstanding alumnus of 1987 batch, Vice-President (R&D) , TVS
Motors . Gold medals were presented to the Academic toppers of the each department.

Sri.Babu Rengarajan, an Alumnus SIT, 1987, Mechanical joined as Engineer Trainee in TVS Motors Hosur. He further qualified with AMIE and has been
deputed for MS (Automobile Engg.) in UK by TVS. Due to his extra ordinary talent
exhibited in his research work, TVS Motors recognized him and promoted him as Vice President (R & D) . His growth is highly appreciable both academically and in
official career. As an appreciation, he has been conferred as SIT Rathna. Due to
his pre-occupation, he could not attend the annual day. Hence Sri..Srinivasan,
Secretary, SITAA along with Sri.G.M.Rajendran, Hon.Secretary, SIT handed over the SIT Rathna Award to his parents at their residence. SIT and SITAA wishes him
to reach further altitude in his career.

International Women’s day celebration at SIT Seshasayee Institute of Technology celebrated the International Women’s Day-
2021 on 6th March 2021 to acknowledge the Women Empowerment. Mrs. Meera
Ramesh, Psychologist and Counselor from Athma hospital, Trichy, was the Chief guest of the day. Miss. P. Amirthavarshini, II year department of EEE welcomed
the gathering.
The theme for International Women’s day “Women in Leadership” was elucidated by Miss. B.Shaahin, II year, department of Computer Engineering.
Dr.K.Vijaykumar, Principal i/c, in his address, enlightened the audience briefing
the need and importance of Women’s day and Women empowerment by culminating the Achievement of Women in various fields. Dr.V.G.Ravindhren, Vice
Principal highlighted the audience about the famous Women’s incredible records
created amidst the hurdles faced.

Chief Guest was honored by Principal Dr. K.Vijaykumar and Mrs. Eswari, Lecturer (SG), Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Chief Guest addressed
the gathering with the slogan “Quiet strength and dignity”. She urged the
audience, how a woman really empower herself and she suggested the ways as helping, understanding others and to achieve greater heights. Significance of the
day was highlighted by the students with their cultural programme. The
Programme came to an end with the Vote of thanks presented by Miss. N.P.
Devadharshini, II-year, and department of Computer Engineering.

These students have been placed with a stipend ranging from Rs.12,000 to
Rs.20,000 for a period of 12 to 24 months followed by regularization of
appointment at good scale of pay. Few companies like Technip India Limited
depute their trainees for higher studies and promote them after their graduation.
Still several companies will be visiting for recruitment in due course.
A Mass Recruitment programme was
organised by Anbil Trust on 20.02.2021,
Saturday in our campus. More than 100
companies participated in the selection
process. Candidates from various
backgrounds such as Diploma, Degree
(Arts & Science, Engineering), MBA/MCA
all appeared and got their offer letters.

Sri.S.G.Kadiravan, Placement Officer hosted an Internshala Career Talk on 'How
to ace your summer internship' in our institution on 12.03.2021. Around 300 Second year students from all departments participated. They were enlightened
about creating an effective profile, registering and applying for Internship, Preparing
for Campus drives through developing Communication skills, personality
development, etc.

NCC CAMP AT SIT
NCC camp was conducted at SIT for five days from 24th to 28th February 2021.
Around 80 cadets from 6 colleges in the Trichy zone participated.
Training was given to the students in Signals, Rifle handling etc. by NCC / Military
officials and the importance of NCC was well explained to the students. Camp was
effective based on feedback of the students.

NATIONAL SCIENCE DAY CELEBARATION
On 01st March 2021, to commemorate the science day, the Basic Engineering department under the guidance of Dr. K.Vijaykumar, Principal(i/c), Dr. V.G.
Ravindhren, Vice Principal, Sri. R.Gopalakrishnamani, HOD (i/c) Basic
Engineering made a presentation on the innovation, achievement of the famous scientists and the inventions to all first year students and faculty at our
Auditorium.

Sri.T.Muthamilselvam, Lecturer (SG), and his team of granted Innovation by
the Australian Government for the
innovation. “Design of Self – Supervising Target
Painting Drone [SSTPD]”.
The Patent is valid for 8 Years. The team Introduced and designed a
new drone innovation for spraying
paint to the desired target. Our Drone
system can paint the target with a speed of 1 m2/min. An aerial vehicle
had designed to fly independently and

Sri.K.Kumar, 1985 Mechanical, alumnus SIT
worked in a small way for around 4 years after his studies. Due to sudden demise of his father, he
has been appointed as a Junior clerk in TN State
Govt. office. Due to his hard work, with continuity
in Govt service, he has been promoted as Deputy Collector and posted to Trichy as P.A. TO
COLLECTOR( ELECTIONS).He took charge on 15th
march 2021 SIT and SITAA feel proud to have its alumnus as
Deputy Collector.
SIT and SITAA congratulate Sri.Kumar and wish him to reach further heights in his

COMMENDABLE GRATITUDE OF OUR ALUMNI – SIT & SITAA THANK
Dr.S.Sudharssanam, alumnus 1964 Civil, Former
Hon.Secretary, SIT, Former President, SITAA contributed
Rs.75,101 towards his commitment of contribution of one
month pension each year to SES, since 2010. Sri.S.Sreenivaasan, S/O. Dr.S.Sudharssanam contributed

Sri.R.M.Selvam, alumnus 1973 Mechanical– General Manager (retd) Hindustan Motors contributed Rs.50,000 to

R.Gururajan, an alumnus of SIT, PTC, 1972 batch stood first in SIT and ranked fifth in Tamil Nadu state. He got
admissions in IIT Madras ( as first top ten ranks of Tamil
Nadu in PTC have been allotted seats for B.Tech. in IIT
Madras). He completed his B.Tech in IIT Madras and served in several organisations all around the world. Towards his
gratitude to the Alma mater, his affection with Former
Principals Late Sri.G.Sundaram and Sri.Anantha Narasimhachar he contributed Rs.2 lakhs to the construction
of open air auditorium
A group of 1982 alumni batch coordinated by Sri.Shenbagarajan & Sri.Palanisamy contributed Rs.2.35 lakhs to construction of open air auditorium
Sri.Rajendran, Assistant Executive Engineer (Retd),CPWD, 1980 Civil
alumnus worked in SIT for a very short period in 1980s, followed by his services
in C.P.W.D. He contributed a sum of Rs 91000/- for this project with specific mention “My heartfelt kanikkai to our Idhaya Dheivam late Sri.ANC Sir”
Twenty one Alumni of SIT, 1983 Batch as per the list arranged an endowment
with SES for Rs.4.23 lakhs to award in this academic year ( represented by confirmed by Sri.R.Gopalakrishnan, Sri.V.Nagarajan and Sri.K.Panchapakesan) to
award 2 x 2 grams gold medals to second and third best outgoing students.

List of alumni 1983 Batch contributed to an endowment with SES on 29-3-
2021 to award two best outgoing students - SES arranged a FDR for this
amount on 30-03-2021.
SIT & SITAA thank each alumnus for their mighty contribution to SES
Corpus fund, GSANCMEF, Open air auditorium construction due to their
gratitude to the Alma mater, love and affection to the former Principals of
the institution, (Late) Sri.GS & Sri.ANC. With all your support SIT will

OBITUARY
Sri.Sundararaman, 1982 Civil an alumnus of SIT passed away on 19-2-2021. He was an active
coordinator for construction of open air auditorium
and arranged collection of funds from alumni. He was having matchless love and affection with Sri.ANC and
gratitude with alma mater. A loss to SITAA.
SIT and SITAA convey heartfelt condolences to his family and share the grief on this sad event.
