So What? Now What? Introduction: Sometimes current events supersede curriculum. These lessons facilitate multiple learning styles to support the exploration of SEL topics in the news and on social media. Teachers determine how the topics will be selected as well as the news stories to be examined. Depending on resources, teachers can encourage students to review newspapers, magazines, radio news, television news, Internet news, and other local methods of news reporting.
