6.  Water

a.  Plastic water bottles contain BPA and other toxins.Use unlined stainless bottles like Klean Kanteen (notSigg).

b.  Have your home water tested – check your county’sCooperative Extension office for testing. InstallReverse Osmosis and any other needed filters, eitherfor the whole house or just for the faucet you drink out of.

7.  Packaginga.  Plastics like Ziploc bags, plastic wrap, Tupperware

should be avoided. Store food in glass.

8.  Household items containing PFCsa.  Non-stick pans, carpeting, furniture, cosmetics,

household cleaners, clothing, and packaged foodcontainers can all contain PFCs, many of whichbreak down into PFOA in the environment or in thehuman body. The brand names are well-known:Teflon, Stainmaster, Scotchgard, SilverStone, andothers.

carpets, bedding, pots and bottles.

Decorating – replace fragile items with durable furnitureand window coverings. Use nontoxic paint.4.  Extended family – can be great or disaster.
