Leo Staub Professor Dr. iur. Attorney-at-Law [email protected] www.lam.unisg.ch Leo Staub is a Titular Professor of Business Law and Legal Management at the University of St. Gallen. He also is one of the Directors of the Executive School of Management, Technology and Law of St. Gallen University where he chairs the division “Law & Management”. His primary area of scholarly interest is in the intersection between law and business. He is lecturing on various topics in the field, such as strategy, client relations, business architecture or leadership in the legal environment, also specifically on how to manage legal risks or deplore legal potentials in enterprises. Leo’s publications focus on management issues in law firms and in-house legal departments as well as compliance management. Together with a large team of colleagues both from the St. Gallen law and business faculty he teaches in various of his executive education programs, designed either for lawyers and in-house legal counsel who want to learn about management or for business executives who are introduced to the basics of business law. The aforementioned courses are rolled out both as open enrolment programs and as custom programs for large law firms and in-house legal depart- ments. Leo also teaches on topics in the field of legal management at the University of Zurich (in its LL.M-program) as well as at the University of Miami Law School (as a visiting professor in its graduate program). Before joining the St. Gallen faculty, he from 1986 until 2008 was a co-founder and senior partner of one of the top 10 law firms in Switzerland, practicing corporate law. Before starting his law firm in 1986 Leo for five years served as a court clerk and as deputy single judge at the County Court of Rorschach. Leo earned a doctor’s degree from University of Zurich Law School and an Executive MBA from the University of St. Gallen. He is admitted to St. Gallen and Swiss bars. Leo also serves as chairman or member of the board of directors of various well respected com- panies, and he is an arbitrator at a permanent arbitration court in St. Gallen.
