CONNECTING EUROPEAN CHAMBERS:
SHARING LESSONS LEARNT AND NEW CHALLENGES FROM EU PROGRAMMES
PUBLIC FUNDRAISING AND EUROPE AT THE FRENCH RIVIERA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
EXTERNAL FINANCING STRATEGY 2014-2020
The French Riviera Chamber of Commerce and Industry has the unique status of being simultaneously a public agency, a democratic institution and a service company. It serves the interests of 71,000 businesses in the Alpes-Maritimes with an annual budget of € 65 million.
Within its mandate as representative of the economic forces, the French Riviera Chamber of Commerce and Industry has put in place a Public fundraising and Europe unit to:
Develop strategies and lead lobbying actions Monitor and analyse state funding aid Answer calls for proposal, calls for projects, bids or expressions of
interest Establish national and international partnerships for project
applications Manage major strategic projects
To carry out these tasks on a regional level, the Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur (PACA) Chambers of Commerce and Industry rely upon the Project Partnership support taskforce (MAPP) formed by combining the expertise of the French Riviera and Marseille Provence CCIs in mobilising external funding & partnerships.

A NEW PROJECT IDEA
HEIDI HERITAGE ENFORCEMENT PROCESS IMPLEMENTING A DISRUPTIVE APPROACH
VALORISING INTANGIBLE ASSETS OF THE ALPINE REGIONCONTEXT: CULTURE IN GENERAL, AND THE AUDIOVISUAL & FILM SECTOR IN PARTICULAR, ARE CROSS-CUTTING AREAS FOR SOCIAL WELL-BEING AND ECONOMIC GROWTH. THE CULTURAL AND CREATIVE INDUSTRIES (CCIS) ARE ONE OF EUROPE'S MOST DYNAMIC SECTORS, CONTRIBUTING AROUND 2.6% TO THE EUROPEAN UNION'S (EU) GROSS DOMESTIC PRODUCT (GDP) AND EXPERIENCING SIGNIFICANT AVERAGE GROWTH.
GEOGRAPHICAL RATIONALE : PILLAR 1 OF THE EUSALP, THE EU MACRO-REGIONAL STRATEGY FOR THE ALPINE REGION, UNDERPINS THE NEED TO FOSTERING SUSTAINABLE GROWTH AND PROMOTING INNOVATION IN THE ALPS FOR A LIVEABLE ALPINE SPACE.
HEIDI PROJECT PURSUES THREEFOLD OBJECTIVES TO :
- BRIDGE THE GAPS BETWEEN HERITAGE PRESERVATION AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT so as to contribute to a more balanced model of development, through innovative approaches to strengthen the sustainability of the region, while taking into account the diversity/specificities of Alpine territories. This is facilitated by fostering partnerships cooperation from the 3 spheres (economic & promotion development, audiovisual & film makers, financiers & film distributors)
- BUILD AN APPROACH CONVERTING INTANGIBLE ASSETS INTO TANGIBLE OUTCOMES so as to support policy makers in governing the whole innovative process and enhancing its economic impact. This is facilitated by building a branding and a funding model strategy beyond traditional approaches.
- ADOPT A DISRUPTIVE APPROACH THAT HELPS to create a new market and value network. This is facilitated by taking a disruptive approach to promoting the Alpine Space creative film sets
