The Lafayette F i re Department serves the community of Lafayette and neighbor ing Boulder County areasprovid ing f i re and emergency services through education, prevention, and mit igat ion, with dedicat ion,commitment, and compassion.
The f i re Department’s continued v is ion is to keep moving the organizat ion forward and provide the h ighestlevels of customer service to the community and surrounding service areas. Lafayette F i re Departmentpersonnel are h ighly tra ined and motivated indiv iduals who are consistently looking at ways to improvethe overal l system. Through education, tra in ing, seminars, and stat ist ical data col lect ion we arecontinual ly analyz ing how to best provide services to the c it izens of Lafayette, as wel l as our neighbor ingcit ies and towns.
The Lafayette F i re Department provides ALS EMS response and f i re/rescue services from two f i restat ions. There are 36 l ine staff including two l ieutenants and a battal ion chief on each shift . Annual ly thedepartment responds to approximately 3 ,500 ca l ls for service and works c losely with neighbor ingagencies. The department part ic ipates in county-wide hazardous mater ia ls , wi ld land, and technical rescueprograms. F i ref ighters work a 48 /96 schedule and are compensated under a col lect ive bargain ingagreement.

JOB DETAILS
Firef ighter/EMT pay range is $70 ,175 - $87 ,640 .F i ref ighter/Paramedic pay range is $79 ,963 -$96 ,292 . Both ranges are dependent onqual if icat ions, cert if icat ions, and exper ience.
COMPENSATION

QUALIFICATIONSA lateral entry f i ref ighter wi l l possess outstandingcustomer service ski l ls and an abi l i ty to work withdiverse populat ions; strong communicat ion andcol laborat ion ski l ls are important ski l ls for th isposit ion.
A lateral entry candidate must have considerablework exper ience as a fu l l -t ime f i ref ighter/EMT.Candidates must be 21 years of age, possess, at aminimum, a h igh school d ip loma, current Colorado orNational Registry EMT, IFSAC or Pro-BoardFiref ighter I and Hazardous Mater ia ls Operat ions,NWCG S-130 /190 , and a val id dr iver 's l icense.
