Twenty-seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time
Faith The Size Of A Mustard Seed: Beautiful statements about our faith may im-
press others and ourselves for a moment, but they do not change us. Inspiration to change
comes from living witnesses, people who inspire us by the way they live. Often the disciples
did not even understand Jesus, but they saw what he did, and how he lived. They admired him
and so they asked, “Lord, make our faith grow!” People consider us practicing Christians, but
the heart of the matter is whether we are believers, people of faith, close to our Lord, who live
as we believe. Let us also ask: Lord, make our faith grow!

also at 7:00pm we will have the Recitation of
the Rosary (no evening mass).

Renovation Update: Drywall work in the North stairwell and
Nave areas is now complete and these are
open again for your use. We will be
working on installing the new lighting to
these areas over the next week. Construc-
tion crews have now started work in the
south stairwell and also to install the new
suspended ceiling in the basement hallway
by the washrooms. Due to the church sched-
ule, drywall work under the balcony area
will not begin until after October 19th and it
will take about two weeks to complete. If all
goes well, we hope to finish this latest
round of work by the first week of Novem-
ber.
Materials needed: One inch thick Micro-Lok Fiber Glass
Pipe Insulation of various sizes
Plastic elbows
Tape to cover iron heating pipes
Help us reduce the cost of our renovations
by donating materials that you or someone
you know can donate. For further details
contact the parish office.
What does bulletin advertising
do for our parish? It pays for the production of your
weekly bulletin. Plain and simple. If
you do not take the bulletin into the
community, our advertisers will take
their business elsewhere. The least we
can do is support them by bringing the
info home to those who may not neces-
sarily attend mass. If you have a busi-
ness or you know someone who does,
consider advertising in our bulletin
and in so doing avoid having to pay
for it ourselves. Sending out the pro-
duction of our bulletin will eliminate
languages and other benefits we pres-
ently have. Advertise with us and
support advertisers.
My Offering, Sacrifice & Support As part of our belonging to the Community
of St. Jude’s Parish, we continue to remind
our parishioners of our common responsi-
bility to provide support to our parish so
that its doors continue to be open to us
when we need it. We particularly remind
those who do not use envelopes that it is
now expected for anyone seeking services
of the Church to identify themselves as
members of the parish through the use of
envelopes.
Offertory Counters Parishioners are still in-
vited to consider assisting
our parish by joining the
counters team. Call the of-
fice for more info.
Registration for First Communion
and Confirmation
Parents who called to sign up for an inter-
view with the pastor to discuss First Com-
munion or Confirmation will be called this
week to set up a time for a meeting with the
pastor. Since it is expected that parents
should already be attending mass regularly, it
follows that those who are attending would
have heard the invitation both at the pulpit
during mass as well as in the bulletin. There-
fore, given that the dead line to sign up was
September 20th, we suggest that those who
did not take the time to sign up, start attend-
ing mass regularly so that you do not miss
these invitations and be able to meet the re-
quirements. The following are the require-
ments:
The family must live within the bounda-
ries of the parish. (proof of address re-
quired) or on-going attendance with regis-
tration at the parish.
if the family does not live within the
boundaries of the parish, previous registra-
tion and active participation in the parish
(as stated above) is considered as qualifi-
cation for parish membership.
Families belonging to other parishes must
seek the assistance of their pastor for this
or any other sacrament.
