Olvera, Luisa Fava, Dennis Nation, Helen & Bernie Zweerman, Silvia Gorosito, Saverio Ca-

pani, Veni Christante, Mathew Rodrigo, Rosa Martinez, Joseph Cassar, Daniella Massara, Aldo

B., Eugine Noga, Chandula Waidyaratne, Lina Valente. Pray for the Deceased:

A word of appreciation During this past Holy Week, our parish

came to celebrate the most sacred events of

our Lord Jesus Christ surrounding his pas-

sion, death and Resurrection. Our Parish

community shared so much of what makes

our community so special: time, talent, re-

flection and generosity of heart. This year,

many families worked so hard to be a part

of what Good Friday brings to us as an in-

evitable step to Resurrection. Our participa-

tion in the service of the church through the

washing of feet; the Crucifixion of our Lord

depicted in the Stations of the Cross that

moved us to contemplation and gratitude;

the Vigil that brought four bothers and sis-

ters to our family of faith and the endless

gifts of one’s willingness to share our faith

and our bread. Thank you to all of you, pa-

rishioners of St. Jude’s on behalf of Fr. Bar-

tek, our parish staff, volunteers and myself.

May God shower his blessings upon us

abundantly this Easter Season.

Divine Mercy Sunday During the course of Je-

sus' revelations to Saint

Faustina on the Divine

Mercy, he asked on nu-

merous occasions that a

feast day be dedicated to

the Divine Mercy and

that this feast be celebrat-

ed on the Sunday after

Easter. The liturgical

texts of that day, the 2nd Sunday of Easter,

concern the institution of the Sacrament of

Penance, the Tribunal of the Divine Mercy,

and are thus already suited to the request of

Our Lord. This Feast, which had already

been granted to the nation of Poland and

been celebrated within Vatican City, was

granted to the Universal Church by Pope

John Paul II on the occasion of the canon-

ization of Sr. Faustina on 30 April 2000.

ShareLife Working wonders in our

community… Of the more

than 1 million foreign-born

people who arrived in Cana-

da between 2001 and 2006,

more than 40% live in the Greater To-

ronto Area. As a result, nearly 11% of

our school system consists of recently

arrived residents and over half of the

total student population speak a non-

official language most often at home.

Last year, ShareLife agencies provided

settlement, advocacy and education pro-

grams for more than 40,000 immigrants

and refugees in the GTA.

Next Sunday, May 04, 2014 is Share-

Life Sunday, we have a second collec-

tion and your contribution will help

many in need. Our goal as a parish is

$30,000.00. So far we have contribut-

ed $9,285.00.

You can work WONDERS!!!

II Sunday of Easter — Divine Mercy Sunday

Today’s gospel vividly reminds us of how Jesus instituted the Sacrament of Reconcil-

iation, a sacrament of divine mercy. The Risen Lord gave his apostles the power to

forgive sins by the words, ―Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins

you retain are retained" (Jn 20: 19-23). Presenting the doubting Thomas’ famous

profession of faith, ―My Lord and my God,” the Gospel illustrates how Jesus showed

his mercy to the doubting apostle and emphasizes the importance of faith.

Reflecting on our

Pastoral Plan The ―New Evangelization,‖ simply put,

is appreciating the joy that faith in

Christ brings us and sharing it with oth-

ers. We believe the world needs the

gospel proclaimed now more than ever.

Practically, we need to strengthen our

public witness, and to provide informed

Catholic voices by working with

schools, universities and other institu-

tions. We will utilize modern technolo-

gy to participate in the dialogue,

through religious and secular media,

embracing social media and other tools

that will lift up the gospel and provide

powerful instruments of evangelization

throughout our archdiocese. Vis-

―Evangelization of Society‖.

Questions for Reflection: From today’s Readings:

“Blessed are those who have not

seen and have believed.” believing

that (God) truly loves us, that he is

alive, that he brings good out of evil

by his power and his infinite love.

How is your faith strengthened by the faith of others?

What realities in your life lock you away in fear?

Are you envious of other’s moment of grace and presence of God?
