To Florida Power Corporation:
In connection with our regular examination of the financial
statements of Florida Power Corporation (a Florida corporation) for
the year ended December 31, 1980, which examination is reported on
in our auditors' report dated February 2, 1981, we have also
reviewed the schedules listed below (except for the data indicated
as excluded) which are included in the Company's Form 1 for 1980
filed with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, for conformity
in all material respects with the requirements of the Federal
Energy Regulatory Commission as set forth in its applicable Uniform
System of Accounts and published accounting releases. Our review
for this purpose was made in accordance with generally accepted
auditing standards and, accordingly, included such tests of the
accounting records and such other auditing procedures as we
considered necessary in the circumstances. We did not make a
detailed examination such as would be required to determine that
each transaction has been recorded in accordance with the Uniform
System of Accounts and published accounting releases.
