: In existing drip fertigation system, he introduced the 3 mulching sheet technology to cultivate muskmelon/water melon even during offseason so as to reap more net profit. Prior that he had grown sugarcane cultivation and faced labour and water shortage. After accessing the KVK contact, he changed the farming style with resource conservation methods and maximizing the profit by knowing the market trend very well and with proper market linkage.

8. Outcome : Meeting the required water for growing 3 crops / year exclusively is hi-tech horticulture. Now, this farmer is being well recognized in the society and acting as resource farmer for the neighbouring villages.

9. Lessons learnt from the farmers experience

: Intensification of the cropping and maximization the profit by growing 3 short duration melon crops in a calendar year than long duration crop. A single person is now managing the entire 5 acre area due his timely intervention.

He has turned out to be a resounding success along with his wife Mrs. Rahmath Bevi.

8. Outcome : Attracted the urban youth in to mushroom cultivation particularly Rs. 35,000/month through value addition and direct marketing. Now he acting as consultant for many new enterpreuners and is recipient of velan semmal award during 2010.
