installed in a wide variety of applications.

Fit the base channel (D1) to thesubstructure (Details on suitable fixingcan be found on our website).

Clip the glass slip clamps (D2) to thebottom edge of the glass panel (Weproduce different sized clamps for

different glass thicknesses).Place the bolt screws in the pivotclamp (D3).

Position the glass in the channel.

Using the adjustment bolts; loosening

one side and tightening the other.This will allow the alignment of theglass with the next panel and enableplumbing of the glass.

Attaching the cover strip (D4)and bead gasket (D5).

SGBE5100 BFBase Drilled E Line channel. This is the main section that hold the glass. It is predrilled at 100mm from the ends and then 200mm there after. The hole is to suit a 12mm fixing bolt and is counter bored to sink the bolt head.

SGBE5300 LIGHT

The top seal strip holds the gasket in place and is pressed on to the channel at the end. Covers the clamps from view. Generally two are used with base channel unless otherwise instructed.

Bottom Cladding3m S/S Brushed

SGBE5302 BTM CLADDING

To be used with side fixed channel if chosen. It is angled to lose the square finish of just having channel. Clips into the grooves under the channel.

Side Cladding3m S/S Brushed

SGBE5301 SIDE CLADDING

As with the top seal strip it holds the gasket in place and covers the clamps from view. To be used with side drilled channel to cover the drill holes from view. Requires adhesive to hold flat surface against channel. Some prefer side cladding with base channel as there is no join line.

Clamp kits have enough items to suit a 3m length of channel. The clamps can fit glass thicknesses 1mm either way of said glass thickness i.e. 15mm glass clamps will suit 14 - 16mm glass. Included are the clamp bars which sit into the top mold of the clamps and the clamp bolts which screw into the bars and are then undone to hold the glass in place. These are undone and tightened each side allowing the glass alignment.

Extra gasket can be supplied in any length. The small gasketsuits 19 - 21mm glass, the large gasket suits 12 - 17.5mm glass.

Stainless steel end caps cut to suit each option.An adhesive will need to be used to hold them in place.

Dowel SGBE 5401 DOWEL

The dowels are used to allow for better aligning when joining channel sections together. There are three slots in the channel to hold dowels although two would be enough.

Spanner SGBE 5400 SPANNER

Steel spanner with angle to reach the clamp bolts totighten/loosen the glass.

Drain Block SGBE DRAIN

Aluminium drain block. Can be fitted underneath the channel to allow water to flow more freely out of the channel.

Ensure the base channel is plumb and true and that other base channels are aligned.

Use laser or spirit level, shim if required.

Secure the glass by tapping the aluminium wedges into place, using nylon hammer and suitable chisel. Make sure aluminium wedges are fitted against channel wall (4 wedges required per linear meter except for 3KN loading) NB. When fitting the aluminium wedge it is essential after pressing it in firmly by hand that it protrudes by approx.

15-20mm above the top of the alloy shoe channel.

STEP 3Fit handrail to the top of the glass with appropriate gasket and bond stainless steel cladding to the base channel. (All joints to be silicon sealed)

Simple and fast deglazing

The removal tool allows the wedges to be removed with ease. The tool effortlessly removes the aluminium wedges from the shoe allowing quick & easy replacement of damaged or incorrect panes of glass.
