KLAS v7 Workstation Installation Keystone Hosted

Progress Version 11.6 / Windows 7-10

Keystone has developed a means of loading the client programs onto a workstation by using files located on the KLAS v7 server. In order to install these programs, a connection to the server would be made using an Internet browser. A series of links will be displayed and the programs will load as those links are accessed.

Prior to starting Installation

1. Log in to Windows as the default Local Admin account. Logging in as a Domain Admin, Network Admin or a regular user that has been given admin rights will NOT allow the software to install properly.

2. Right-click on your browser icon and select Run as administrator

3. Disable all non-Microsoft virus scan software. This is necessary in order for the WebClient to install properly.

NOTE: There are slight variations during installation for Windows 7 32-bit, and Windows 7 64-bit users. Please determine if you have 32 or 64 bit by viewing your system information (right click on My Computer, left click Properties).

**Before starting this process, be sure to log onto the workstation as an administrator.**

Step 1: Install KLAS Support Files

If you are installing on a Windows 7 machine, use Internet Explorer, run as an Administrator as the browser. (Start – Run – Internet – Right Click and select Run as Admin)

1. Open a web browser and point it to the URL given to you by Keystone. You should see a site similar to this. You will be working with the New Installation section of this website!

2. Select “Install KLAS Support Files”.

3. On the Internet Explorer – Security Warning, Select Run

4. When you get to the KLAS Support Files Setup Wizard, Select Next.

5. On the Choose Components window, accept the defaulted components and select Install.

6. The programs will install. When they are finished, you’ll view a screen entitled “Completing the KLAS Support Files Setup Wizard.” Click the Finish button to leave the screen.

Step 2: Install OpenVPN

1. Return to the KLAS Installation page

2. Select the link for Install OpenVPN v2.3.10. This will install the VPN client to help eliminate dropped connections.

3. The first window brings up a File Security Warning. Choose Run to proceed.

4. Select Run again to install the VPN.

5. Choose OK or Next and accept the defaulted settings.

6. This will bring up the File Download window. Choose Open.

7. This will bring up an installation wizard. At the Welcome screen, select Next.

8. On the License Agreement page, select I Agree.

9. The next window allows you to choose the components to be installed. The appropriate ones are already selected, so just choose Next.

10. The next window displays the installation location. Accept the defaulted location and choose Next.

11. The VPN files will begin loading, and give you a progress window. This may take a few moments.

12. A warning message may appear similar to this, asking if you want to continue the installation process. Select Yes.

13. You will be given a message stating that the installation is complete. Select Next.

14. On the final window of the wizard, uncheck the two boxes and click the Finish button. DO NOT Start the OPEN VPN GUI from this window.

15. There should be an icon for the OpenVPN GUI on the desktop.

16. Right click on it, choose the OpenVPN Service and select the option to Restart

Step 3: Install WebClient

1. From the KLAS v7 Installation page, select “Install WebClient WebClient – Silent Install

You will be asked to Run or Save the file: Select Run

2. The programs will run and install in the directories needed without any prompting from you. When it is completed, you’ll get a notification that the programs have successfully installed. You can then move on to the Step 4 of these instructions (Skip to Page 12).

3. If the installation fails, you will receive an error message. You will need to proceed with the EXE Installation process described on the next page.

Click OK. Continue with this section.

4. From the KLAS v7 Installation page, select “WebClient - EXE Install”.

5. The WebClient InstallShield Wizard screen will welcome you. Press Next to continue

6. If you have previous versions of KLAS and the Progress Webclient on the workstation, the wizard will offer to uninstall the. Do Not Uninstall

7. The first screen of the installation will require you to accept the license agreement to install the Webclient. Check the appropriate box, then click next to continue.

8. The Question screen asks if the computer is part of an HTTP Proxy server network. Answer the question as appropriate. (Most are not.)

If you are part of a Proxy server network, you’ll need to fill in the information on the next screen.

9. On the Choose WebClient Destination Location, you will need to change the path of the installation.

Click on the Browse button next to the Path.

10. The Choose Folder Screen will be displayed.

11. You can type in the paths in by hand, if the folders are available, select the folder from the tree. Windows 32 bit use: C:\Program Files\OpenEdge\116\WebClient Windows 64 bit use: C:\Program Files (x86)\OpenEdge\116\WebClient

12. When you return to the Choose WebClient Destination Location screen, you should see the proper destination folder displayed:

13. You may click Next through the following screens asking for confirmation of the file to be installed and the language.

14. STOP when you arrive at the “Choose Webclient Application Destination Location” screen.

15. Once again click on Browse to change the installation location. For all Windows versions, change the directory to: C:\klas7\WebClientApps

16. Click OK to accept your folder selection. Then, click Next and then Finish to complete the WebClient installation.

Step 4: Install the KLAS Production Client

1. In your Web Browser, return to the KLAS v7 Installation page.

2. Select Install KLAS Client EXE Install

3. Choose Run

4. The KLAS installation Wizard screen will be displayed. Click Next

5. On the Choose Components page, accept the defaulted components and choose Next.

6. The progress bar on the next page will let you know how far along the installation is.

7. Click on the Finish button to close the window

8. Click on the KLAS Icon on the desktop to continue with installation.

You must log Into KLAS to complete the installation

Step 5: Install XPrint

1. Return to your browser and select Install XPrint v7.9 from the KLAS Installation page

2. On the File Download Security Warning screen, select Run.

3. Select Run on the next screen as well.

4. The Setup Language should be English. Select OK

5. Select Next on the vpxPrint Setup Wizard

6. Click on the radio set for “I accept the agreement”, then press Next.

7. Accept the default for Select Destination Location, and press Next.

8. Accept the default for Select Start Menu Folder and press Next.

9. On the Select Additional Tasks, there should be two check marks - √ Copy xPrint.dll √ Install the vpxPrint Active-X support. Click Next to proceed

10. On the Ready to Install page, click Install

11. On the Setup – vpxPrint Information screen, select Next.

12. The Installation wizard and the complete KLAS installation will be finished when you press the Finish button.

Step 7. Verify VPN Connection

1. Click on Verify VPN Connection to confirm that the VPN is connected before logging into KLAS
