Other Notes:

1. It is recommended that you select centers from the ones that are noted above. If you opt to do something different, then you need to be very sure that the centers address phonics. Refer also to the next sectionthings you should not do.

2. You can do your own variations of BINGO or Concentration games, but you should be careful that the center addresses phonics.

3. The centers should be interactive.

4. Each should have directions.

5. Each should have a self-checkyou will probably have to create a self-check for these centers, so dont forget to do this.

6. You should include 20 words per center unless it is a Concentration Center, then do 20 pairs.

7. For bonus centers, you can do any of the options below from either column. Each bonus center should have a set of directions, self-check, and any relevant parts needed to do the center.

You should NOT do:

1. Activities from Chapter 4 (except for Follow the Path)we covered much of these activities as part of our early childhood centers as well as sight words.

2. Sortsyou can have the sorting activity as part of the center, but it can not ONLY be a sort.

3. Worksheets of any kind

4. Word searches

5. Crossword puzzles

6. Rhyming words

7. Sight Words

8. Flip books

9. Word wheels
