Dear Children, When we invite Jesus to come into our hearts and live within us, guess what? He does it! Jesus said, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.” John 14:23 He lives within us through His Holy Spirit. And once Jesus is living within us through His Holy Spirit, He is able to help us live the way God wants us to live and that is best for us. Have you ever found it hard to do the right thing? I have. But the good news is that Jesus is always there to help us live the right way if we only ask him to help us. I want to tell you about the story of a woman named Corrie Ten Boom. She was a Dutch Christian during World War 2 and was put in a prison camp for hiding Jews in in her home. After her release from the prison camp, she began traveling the world and speaking about Jesus and spoke about His redemption. Through her travels she came in contact with a few of the guards that had kept her in prison. The first encounter with one of her previous jailers was the most difficult. This is what she wrote:

“It was a church service in Munich that I saw him, the former S.S. man who had stood guard at the prison. He was the first of our actual jailers that I had seen since that time. He came up to me as the church was emptying, beaming and bowing. “How grateful I am for your message,” he said. “To think that, as you say, He has washed my sins away!” His hand was thrust out to shake mine. And I, who had preached so often to the people the need to forgive, kept my hand at my side. Even as the angry, vengeful thoughts boiled through me, I saw the sin of them. Jesus Christ had died for this man; was I going to ask for more? Lord Jesus, I prayed, forgive me and help me to forgive him. I tried to smile, I struggled to raise my hand. I could not. I felt nothing, not the slightest spark of warmth or charity. And so again I breathed a silent prayer. Jesus, I cannot forgive him. Give me Your forgiveness. I then took his hand and the most incredible thing happened. From my shoulder along my arm and through my hand a current seemed to pass from me to him, while into my heart sprang a love for this stranger that almost overwhelmed me.And so I discovered that it is not on our forgiveness any more than on our goodness that the world’s healing hinges, but on His. When He tells us to love our enemies, He gives, along with the command, the love itself.” All we have to do is ask Jesus to help us. Next time you need Him, just pray, “Jesus, help me.” He is faithful and He will do it.

THE SIMPLEST OUTLINE FOR FAMILY TIME EVER!

10 EASY STEPS

1. Just make sure you gather once a day as a family.

2. Try really hard to make the same time every day.

3. It does not have to be long; it does not have to be perfect.

4. Read a Bible verse. Maybe a devotional.

5. Sing a song or two together.

6. Take prayer requests.

7. Pray. (Daddy, your children NEED to hear you pray.) Pray for the children; pray for missionaries; pray for Trinity Church; give thanks.

8. Everyone tell one thing they are thankful for.

9. Have a Leader of the Day: they get to read and/or pray and/or tell everyone to come gather and/or put out the Bibles/hymnals and/or tell something that happened to them that day.

10. Dad, pray this over your children: Numbers 6:24–26

The LORD bless you and keep you;

the LORD make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace.

This week’s lesson is on Romans 13:8-14

“And He said to them, ‘Go into all the world

and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.’”

Mark 16:15

Where Do Our Missionaries Live and Work?

This week’s missions ministry serves families who don’t have a place to live. It is called Family Promise. This ministry for homeless families happens right here in Trinity Church. The families who come to stay with us usually cannot afford their house or apartment because the parents lost their job, or were sick or had to pay for very expensive car repairs. Trinity shares our church facilities with 3 or 4 of these families for one week every three months to help them while they recover from a difficult situation. We give them meals and a safe place to sleep. Most of all, we encourage our guests and show them Jesus’ love because of the love He gives us. During the day, the parents go to work or look for a job while the children go to a community center. It usually takes about 4 months for a family to recover and get back into their own home. Trinity Church does this with 14 other churches in Montgomery. Jayme Teague, who is a Trinity member, works for the Family Promise and helps bring people into the program. Perhaps you have helped your parents provide meals or even stayed overnight in the church or the missions house when we hosted Family Promise. This is one of the easiest and most fun ministries we do because children can help their parents serve other people in Jesus’ name.

#115 "All Creatures of Our God and King"

Psalm 145:10 says that “all You have made will praise You.” This hymn not only speaks of creatures, such as humans and animals

praising God, but it also speaks of “rushing wind,” “clouds that sail,” “thou burning sun,” “thou silver moon,” and “thou flowing water” all praising God. Can you imagine the whole Earth and everything in it praising God in whatever way it can! That is almost too big of a thought to grasp. We praise Him as believers, but we have never seen animals or the sun or moon praising Him, but it will happen! This very same thing is also mentioned in Revelation 5:13. There

will come a day when every creature and thing God made will praise Him. What a joyous day that will be!

#642 “Be Thou My Vision”

The author of this hymn is asking Christ to be several things. The things he asks of the Lord are wonderful and they are things He

promises to be to us. Why don’t you ask Jesus to be those things to you too? He will! Pray to the Lord: Lord, be thou “my vision,” “Lord

of my heart,” “my wisdom,” “my true word,” “my great Father,” “my battle shield,” “my dignity...my delight...my soul’s shelter,” “my

inheritance,” “my treasure,” and “Heart of my own heart.” Jesus longs for you to follow Him!

“All you have made will praise you, O Lord; your saints will extol you.”

Psalm 145:10
