Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Would you like to find a quiet, cool place on Wednes-

day to spend some time with the Lord? Every Wednes-

day St. Joe parishioners, NKU students and local Catholics visit with Jesus from 9:30-6:30 in the old convent chapel.

There are nine one-hour slots to be sure the Blessed Sacra-ment is not left alone. Due to summer schedules, illnesses,

etc. some time slots are not being filled. Ideally, there

should be two persons in the chapel at all times. At present we often have only one person praying each of the hours

from 10:30-2:00. Prayers are especially needed during this

time.

Sitting in Jesus’ Eucharistic presence is spiritually beneficial

and healing and who doesn’t need that? Rosary and bene-

diction is 6:00-6:30. Maybe summertime leaves you with a little extra time or gives you an opportunity to stop by with

the kids on your way to or from sports, grocery store or the

library. Anyone can sign up for as little as 30 minutes. A person with children may only be able to stay for 10 or 15

minutes, but it will leave a lasting positive impression on

your children. Is Jesus tugging at your heart for a little visit

or for an even bigger commitment? It is not necessary to be assigned a time, but it does help coordinate the overall coverage. All parishioners are en-

couraged to stop by the chapel at any time on any Wednes-

day for quiet time with the Lord.

Seriously consider whether you might be able to commit to

an hour or even a half hour on a weekly basis, especially during that 10-2 time slot. This is a serious need to keep our

adoration ongoing!

You can call Kay Sendelbach at 441-2712 to sign up or ask questions.

The men and women who currently commit to a time slot

for Eucharistic adoration would be happy to have a partner!

That way there would be no problem if occasionally some snag came up. Jesus would bless your effort as well.

Your pastor and brother in Christ,

Fr. Gerry Reinersman

Grant that, by word and example, I may lead them in the ways of true wisdom and piety, so that they too will know the joy of loving You. SERVER'S WEEKDAY SCHEDULE

SCRIPTURE REFLECTION

Like all good stories, the parables of Jesus stick in the mind. They endure. Jesus’ parables also create a new and different territory to be explored, a strange and exciting homeland for us. This home-land is one that is rife with God’s activity and presence. Like the seed hidden in the ground, God’s will is inexorably being done. Like the tiny mustard seed burgeoning almost overnight into a mighty tree, home for the birds of the air, God’s reign comes up-on us with vigor, intensity, and surprise. It cannot be stopped. It will blossom and grow. It will triumph in the end. That’s a prom-ise, a promise of God! What are we to do? “Do as I do,” said Je-sus. “Rejoice!” “Celebrate with one another. Stop worrying. Love your enemies.” Since God’s justice and love will triumph, since compassion is the core of reality, there can be no enemies, only neighbors. Jesus invites us to join with him in this mission of love. Remember the Gospel from the Body and Blood of Christ? “Share my mission. Spread this Good News. I’ll be with you always, close to your hearts, until I come again to fulfill the reign of God.” (See Mat-thew 28:20) As citizens of this godly realm, we must be people attentive to the growth and development that is continually unfolding all around us. It is not enough for us simply to sit back and watch, however. No, we are tenders of the growth, stewards of God’s blossoming crop. Yes, we can rely completely on God’s good will and pur-pose. At the same time, however, we must be willing to care for and nurture as best we can that which God has planted and ani-mates.

BISHOP BROSSART HIGH SCHOOL NEWS

Mustang Athletic Complex…Thank you to all who have made a commitment to help make the MAC a reality. We still need everyone’s support to get us to the finish line. Earthwork is ongoing at the site and we hope to have com-pleted during the month of May. Once that work is com-pleted we will have to finish raising the needed money to complete the project. Our goal is to be building on site in late summer/early fall. For that to happen we need to reach our goal of $5.2 million very soon. Please pray on your decision and for the success of our journey. Thank you to all for your continued prayers and support. Contact Chris Holtz with any question at [email protected] or 635-2108.

Dave Schuh Track…. From the very beginning, a donor stepped up and made a commitment to include the naming rights to our track in the stadium. Recently, the donor reached out to Mr. Ridder and wanted to elevate their gift. Our anonymous donor will also match every gift for the naming of the track up to $250,000. The donor did this for two reasons, first to help the current and future students of Bishop Brossart High School and secondly they wanted to name the track after the person who is most deserving of the honor, Mr. Dave Schuh. Please contact Chris Holtz with any questions at [email protected] or 635-2108.

PRO-LIFE NEWS Families For Life

SAVE THE DATE – On the last Friday of each month between the Spring and Fall 40 DAYS FOR LIFE campaigns, an hour-long pray-er vigil is held in front of Planned Parenthood,

2314 Auburn Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45219, from 7-8pm for the intentions of the pro-life movement and in preparation for the upcoming Fall campaign. The third of these monthly gatherings takes place on Friday, June 29th. We invite everyone to join us and especially welcome anyone new to public prayer. Men Hurt Too – Fathers suffer from the abortion of their chil-dren...While the prochoice movement ignores the rights of fathers in this area, the pro-life movement acknowledges their pain and offers healing forgiveness, and a strong affirmation of the value of fatherhood.

If you're facing an abortion decision, or if there's one in your past, there's something you should know.

Evidence is mounting that the fathers of aborted children can be dramatically affected by an abortion decision.

Visit Priests for Life at http://priestsforlife.org/postabortion/fathersandabortion.htm for the complete article.

VIRTUS USERS: To remain compliant and active at St. Joseph, please make sure to complete your monthly bulletins. The June bulletin has posted and is due July 3rd. Please go to www.virtus.org, enter your user id and password. Remember to read your bulletins on a laptop or a PC. The system has problems recording your answer if you use a phone or ipad. If you do not have a training tab please contact Carrie in the Parish Office at 441-1604.

FUND A FAN

It's THAT time again. Our family is working with the Bright-on Center to collect monetary donations that will be used to purchase box fans. Last year, with your generosity, we were able to assist more than 100 families in the area with much needed fans to keep them cool in the Cincinnati sum-mer. Our goal is to double our donations and help more than 200 families this year. Brighton Center accepts appli-cations for the fans and provides them to families in need of assistance over the hot summer days. If you would like to donate, you can mail a check to FUND A FAN at our home address 454 Ward Ave, Bellevue, KY 41073. Thanks in advance for your consideration.
