News & Notes

The audition for the Missoula Children’s Theatre production of King Arthur’s Quest will be held on July 14, 2014, at 1:00 P.M. at the School Age Care (SAC) Center located at 994 Oak Circle, NAS Meridian, MS (in base housing). There are roles for those students entering 1st grade through 12th grade. Local students will be cast to appear in the show with the MCT Tour Actor/Director. There is no guarantee that everyone who audi-tions will be cast in the play. Students wishing to audition must arrive by the scheduled starting time and stay for the entire two-hour session. The first rehearsal begins approximately 15-30 minutes after the audition. This is a group audition–no ad-vance preparation is necessary, but a smile never hurts. Students should just be ready to come and have a good time! All children in grades 1-12 with official access to the base are eli-gible to audition. This is a very special opportunity, and we look forward to your participation. Rehearsals will be conducted every day from 1:00 to 5:30 at the School Age Care (SAC) Center. Although not all cast members will be needed at every session, those auditioning must have a clear schedule for the entire week and if selected, be able to attend all rehearsals required for their role. A detailed rehearsal schedule will be distributed at the conclusion of the audition. Cast members sched-uled for the full 4½ hours of rehearsal will be asked to bring a sack lunch, dinner or snack. The performances will be held on July 19, 2014, starting at 11:00 A.M. and will be presented at the School Age Care (SAC) Center. The students in the cast will be called for dress rehearsal before the performance that day. All those cast must be available for all scheduled performances. The Missoula Children’s Theatre is a non-profit organization based in Missoula, Montana. This coming year more than 65,000 cast members across the globe will take to the stage to the delight and applause of their families, friends, community, neigh-bors and teachers! The residency at Naval Air Station Meridian is made possible by Child and Youth Programs and MWR. For any questions please contact Child and Youth Programs at 601-679-5252/2652/2473. Ask for Erica White (5252/2652), or Deridre Odom (2652), or Cynthia McDonald (2473).

Movie In The Barracks! July 17, 2014 • 1900

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 • Rated PG13Starring: Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Fox

Its great to be Spider-Man. For Peter Parker, there is no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen. But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro, Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn, returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp. Rated PG13 for sequences of sci-fi action/violence • Runtime 2hrs. 22min.

*Event begins at 1800 and the movie will start at dark. Open to all NTTC and MATSS-1 students. MWR

will provide FREE pizza and drinks!
