Training and working experience

I am currently training with Uganda Telecom in the NOC department as a graduate trainee

Activities involved include:

Monitoring and Supervision of the Network. This involves monitoring GSM sites, ADMs, transmission nodes and data nodes. Tools used for monitoring include: Alcatel GSM Terminal, Huawei Local Maintenance terminal BSC 6000, ZTE ADMs terminal, Siemens ADM Terminal, Tejas Terminal, PNMS terminal and Icinga.

Incident escalation and coordination to ensure that faults are attended to and cleared as soon as possible

Opening trouble tickets assigning them and following them up to the time they are closed upon restoration of service

Ensuring prompt and precise reporting of faults. Supervision of the power contractors and providing support to the field Engineers.
