Younger Years of LifeJoseph Conrad, given name Józef Teodor Konrad Korzeniowski, was born December 3, 1857. Mr. Conrad was born in Berdyczow, Poland, within a Ukraine providence.
Conrad had a rough life in hs younger years, at age three his dad was imprisoned, at age eight Joseph lost his mom and at age twelve his father died. With both of Conrad's parents passed due to tuberculosis, this young boy became an orphan (Knowles para 1-6).
Influences
Conrad's father exposed his son to various forms of literature in different languages, because he was a language translator.
Joseph was influenced by his maternal uncle, whom believed in the ideas of conservatism (Knowles para 6-7).
Beliefs and Accomplishments
Conrad's uncles states "[Joseph] always disliked the Christian religion, its doctrines, ceremonies, and festivals", this went against his families beliefs (Knowles para 6-7).
Joseph Conrad's novel Heart of Darkness was nominated for SBSA award (Heart of Darkness para 1).
Heart of Darkness was widely read and the inspiration of multiple films and plays.
DeathMr. Joseph Conrad died 3 August, 1924 of a heart attack, after his death, his collaborative novel The Nature of Crime was published (Allingham para 28).
Conrad passed in Canterbury, Kent, England (Allingham para 28).
