PRESIDENT / COO 1999 to Jan 2010AMI INC./ WCS INTL, Sparta, NJ

Re-Launch & Turnaround of a declining 40-year-old privately held medical injection molding business. Increased sales, gross margin and profitability and established the company as a global medical devices component manufacturer. Developed and executed an exit strategy for shareholders in Jan 2010.

• Full P&L responsibility for over 7MM comprising of 3 different divisions. • Constructed a 40,000 sq.ft. liquid injection molding operation in a class 100,000 clean room environment in domestic US. • Established local vendor relationships to capture outsourced business in traditional rubber molding and plastic injection molding. • Established a Captive manufacturing company in Tianjin, China with 130 employees, assembling high-end switches and developing non-traditional technologies – metal stamping, metal bending, cutting/slitting, micro welding, ceramic component molding, and technical soldering/assembly. • Established relationships with customers such as: Welch Allyn, Sci Can, Covidien, Siemans Diagnostic Health Care, Magna Drive Train, Segway, East Penn, DEKA, and Med Tech. • Domestic Operations - Drove 85% revenue swing from negative in 2005 to break-even in 2007. Growth from 2004 to 2007 • Re-energized and re-trained sales team to target 4 markets in custom rubber molding business – medical device, aerospace, government, and commercial applications. • Introduced Lean manufacturing practices, re-machined, and re-trained operators for increased productivity. Decreased reject rate from over 15% in 2005 to 6% in 2007, remaining below 2%. • Implemented training for ISO 13485 Medical Device throughout entire facility. • Increased manufacturing output per machine 20-30% introducing robotics on inherited tooling and machinery.
