JKay Deluxe frameworkThe Deluxe framework is a modified version of the

original android framework made by Google andSamsung. Five files have been extended:Settings.apk, SystemUI.apk, framework-res.apk,Ext.jar and Android.Policy.jar

Find the framework that matches your PDA:

To find your PDA version call *#1234# and writedown the value next to PDA:

Go to the download site and download the Deluxeframework that matches.

Odexed or Deodexed?If you use a stock Samsung rom then your phoneuses an odexed framework so select odexed.Custom roms are usually deodexed.Odex means Optimized Dalvik Executable. Deodexmeans that it is no longer optimized. Here the dexfile is included within the application itself (theclasses.dex file).

Download the new Deluxe framework and put it onyour SD card.Also download the Restore file for your phone andput it onto your SD card.Use this restore file in case you want to uninstallthe JKay Deluxe framework.

The Deluxe framework can be installed using CWM(ClockworkM od Recovery). CWM is a recoverysystem like Samsungs original recovery systembut CWM allows third-party updates to be installedonto your phone!

An CWM update zip file exists that can betemporary installed using Samsungs originalrecovery. This means that neither a custom kernelnor root is required to install JKay Deluxeframework!

There are also kernels with CWM included but herewe will use this CWM to install the JKay Deluxeframework.

How to install Deluxe framework using CWM

CWM can be found athttp://clockworkmod.com/rommanager A copy of CWM zip can be found athttp://www.mediafire.com/download.php?op3oj8810m0oudj

1) Put the CWM.zip on your external SD card2) Power off your Phone3) Hold down the 3 buttons: Volume- up, Home

and Power4) Release all 3 buttons button when logo is

shown on the display and the Samsung

recovery menu will show5) Press volume down to ‘apply update fromexternal storage’

6) Press power button to select7) Use volume down to find the CWM .zip8) Press power button to select it9) CWM will be installed and ClockworkMod

Recovery menu will show10) Press on the screen ‘ – install zip from

sdcard’11) Press on ‘choose zip from sdcard’ if Deluxe

framework file is on internal sd

Or press ‘choose zip from internal sdcard’ ifframework file is located on external sdcard

12) Locate the Deluxe framework zip file and

press it to install it13) Take note that there are no errors while

installing it!14) Press ‘- go back’ and press ‘- reboot system

now’15) Done!

Deluxe SettingsDeluxe Settings can beinstalled as any normalAndroid Application.

When launched a list ofsettings will be shown. Thesettings are split into 7parts: Lock screen, Statusbar, Phone options dialog,Back button long press,Home button double click,M iscellaneous and About.

Lock ScreenThere are six lock screen to choose from:1) Circle Stock Samsung lock screen2) Rotary Original Android lock screen3) Sliding tab Original Android lock screen4) ICS The M ultiView lock screen

The two Deluxe lock screens can be set up with

shortcut actions to launch applications andsettings from the lock screen.Each lock screen may have some optionsspecifically for it. Currently only Circle and the twoDeluxe lock screens have additional options.All lock screens have a common set of options asdescribed in section just below.

Edit actions

JKay Tab Deluxe:For JKay Tab Deluxe it is possible to set up 6shortcut actions: Top left shortcut, top right,middle left, middle right, Bottom left and bottomright.

Press on an entry to select the action for thatshortcut. A list of all the installed application willshow. Press on the application to launch.Other actions can also be selected for a shortcut.Press menu key to be able to select between:Unlock, Not in Use, Flashlight toggle or soundtoggle.

Unlock is the standard phoneunlock action

Not in use will hide the sliding tab forthat shortcut

Flashlight toggle tab will be used for toggle

the flashlight on/offSound toggle tab will be used for

standard sound on/ offtoggle

Long press on a shortcut to change it’s icon on thelock screen slider.

Pressing menu when on the shortcut page willshow a list of icons and templates to choose from.

Flashlight on icon... Press to change the icon forwhen the flashlight is on

Sound off icon… Press to change the icon forwhen the sound is off

JKay ICS Deluxe:

For JKay ICS Deluxe it is

possible to set up 15shortcut actions: 5 on 1st circle (ring 1) , 5 on the 2

nd

circle (ring 2) and 5 on the3 rd circle (ring 3).

You change circle by

dragging the handle downleft (ring 2) or down right(ring 3) and to get back toring 1 please release andpress unlock widget handleagain.

Like for the JKay Tab Deluxe simply press on theshortcut and select the application to launch. Frommenu there are two possible selections: ‘Unlock’and ‘Not in use’.

Long press to change the icon for the action.

Unlock and Camera can only have one icon. Butapplications can have two icons: Default icon andM issed event icon.Default is the icon shown for the application if ishas no missed events waiting.

Set lock screen options

Circle lock screenThe Circle lock screen is the stock Samsung lockscreen that comes with the phone.It has currently only one option:

Show swipe help text

If disable then the swipe help text will not beshown on the lock screen

JKay Tab Deluxe lockscreen

For the JKay Tab deluxe

lock screen there are manyoptions:

Show clockShows or hides the bigdigital clock on the lock

screen.

Leading zero on clockChange clock from say07:53 to 7:53

Use tab clock styleUses the original Clockopia font for the clockinstead of the Samsung clock PNGs.

Center clockCenters the clock position on the screen(instead of left position)

Show dateShow date on lock screen.

Show long date formatChanges the date format from compact to long.

Show charging infoShows or hides the charging information on the

lock screen.

Show alarm infoShows or hides the next alarm information onthe lock screen.

Vibrate when unlockIf enabled then the phone will vibrate when theslider action is performed.

For the JKay ICS deluxe lock screen there are a few

options too:

Show carrier labelIf enabled then the carrier label is shown on thelock screen

Double tap to unlock

If enabled then it is possible to unlock thephone by double tapping the lock screen.

…and show missed eventIf enabled then the phone will after you doubletapped to unlock also show the last m issed

event.

Show missed event iconIf enabled then a round i is shown on the lockscreen if there are any missed events.The i will glow yellow if there has been set up anapplication shortcut for the application that

missed event.

Show missed event textIf enabled then the ticker text from the lastmissed event is shown where the carrier label

was.

Set common options

Under ‘Set common options’ there are manysettings that apply to all the lock screens.

Show when secure

If enabled then the selected lock screen will beshown even if the phone is secured with thePin/Pattern or Password unlock screen. Lockscreen will be shown before unlock screen.

Status bar enabled

If enabled then the status bar can be pulleddown and used from the lock screen.

…also when secureIf enabled then the status bar can also be pulleddown from the lock screen even if the phone issecured with a Pin/ Pattern or Password unlock

screen. Use this with care! Note: this feature willreset after a reboot!

Transparent status bar

If enabled then the status bar will be semi-transparent when the lock screen is shown.Note: The phones desktop wallpaper will beshown if transparent. Not the lock screenwallpaper. So disable lock screen wallpaper if

enabling this!

Show wallpaper

If enabled then the selected lock screenwallpaper will be shown on the lock screen. If

disabled then the desktop wallpaper will beshown (also any live wallpaper).

Darker background

If enabled then the wallpaper will look darker.This way it is easier to read icons and text on

the lock screen.

Vol. btns toggle sound

If enabled then the volume buttons will togglesound and vibration on/ off on the lock screen.

The lock screen must be on for these buttons towork.Volume up turns sound on.Volume down turns sound off and togglesvibration on/ off on every press.

Long press home for flashIf enabled and the lock screen is on then longpressing the home button will toggle theflashlight on and off.

Fast unlock

If enabled then it is not needed to press OKwhen entering Pin or Password on the unlockscreen.

Status bar

Edit quick settings panel

Here the quick settingsbuttons on the notificationbar can be set up.A list of all the toggles isshown and those with acheckmark are shown on

the settings panel. Theorder of the toggles on thepanel is set by the orderthey are selected from thelist. Press menu to Reset orUnselect all on the list. Soa fast way of selecting andordering the quick setting toggles is to firstunselect all and then select them in the order theyshall be shown.

Wifi

The Wifi toggle is the default toggle. But it hasbeen extended so that if long pressed then the Wifisettings will be shown!

Bluetooth

The Bluetooth toggle is the default Bluetoothtoggle but with long press added.

GPS

The GPS toggle is the default GPS toggle but withlong press added.

Silent mode

The Silent mode toggle is the default Silent modetoggle but with long press added. This toggle is atristate toggle that switches between: silent mode/ silent + vibration / non-silent mode

Auto rotation

The Auto rotation toggle is the default toggle butwith long press added.

Auto brightness

The auto brightness toggle is used for switchingbetween normal brightness and auto brightnessmode. Long pressing this toggle will show thebrightness adjust slider.

Data

The Data toggle is for switching the Data networkmode on and off. Long press to go to the M obile

network settings page.

Do not disturb

With this toggle turned no sound will play and noicon will show in the status bar when a newnotification arrives.

Flashlight

Toggle to turn flashlight on and off. Long pressbutton to go to general settings. This toggle willonly work if the camera is not already in use. Note:the camera is in use when using the face unlockscreen, so here long press home button will nowwork!

Flight mode

Toggle to turn Airplane mode on and off. Long

press to go to the Wireless and networks page.

Power saving

Toggle to turn System power saving mode on andoff. Long press with take you to the Power saving

settings.

Screen on

Toggle to set the screen timeout to a valuebetween 3 minutes and 3 hours 30 minutes. It canbe set up as temporary screen on or as permanent

screen on. If it has been set to temporary screenon then the phone will be set back to standardtimeout at screen off. Long press to go to Displaysettings.

Secure M ode

Toggle to turn off security mode on and off. A

reboot will also turn on Secure mode! If phone isnot secured with a face- , pin- , pattern- orpassword- unlock then pressing this button willbring up the Secure settings page. Secure settingspage will also be shown when button is longpressed. When Secure mode is off then the unlockscreen will be replace with the selected lock

screen.

Sound

Toggle to turn sound on and off. Long press to goto Sound settings page.

Sync

Toggle to turn sync accounts on and off. Longpress to get to the Account and sync settingspage.

VibrateToggle to turn vibrate on and off for the selectedsound state. Each sound state has its own vibratestate. Vibrate when sound is off and vibrate when

sound is on. Long press to get to the Sound settingpage.

Wi-Fi hotspot

Toggle to turn Wi- Fi hotspot on and off. Longpress button to get to the ‘Tethering and portablehotspot’ setting page.

RebootPress to reboot your phone. If ‘Confirm power off’option is checked then a confirmation dialog isshown. If ‘OK’ is pressed then the phone willreboot. Long press button to go to generalsettings.

Recovery

Press to reboot your phone in Recovery mode. If‘Confirm power off’ option is checked then aconfirmation dialog is shown. If ‘OK’ is pressedthen the phone will reboot and show the recovery

menu. Long press button to go to general settings.

Download

Press to reboot your phone in Download mode. If‘Confirm power off’ option is checked then a

confirmation dialog is shown. If ‘OK’ is pressedthen the phone will reboot and show the downloadpage. Long press button to go to general settings.

Power off

Press to shutdown your phone. If ‘Confirm power

off’ option is checked then a confirmation dialog isshown. If ‘OK’ is pressed then the phone will turnoff. Long press button to go to general settings.

Edit quick launchpanel

The quick launch panelis a panel of shortcutsto applications that canbe accessed from thenotification bar. Thisspeeds up the access tothem since it is possible

from any applicationand lock screen to dragdown the notificationbar and launch anapplication.There can be up to 12

shortcuts toapplications plus the 4power actions: reboot, recovery, download andpower off.The reason for not having more than 12 shortcutsis that they must fit onto 2 pages with 6 shortcutson each page. If there are more pages then youwould have to start searching for your applicationshortcut and then it would no longer be a quickpanel!

If you long press on an entry in the list to select anew shortcut to an application then a list of allapplications installed on the phone will be shown.

Select an application and that application willreplace whatever was on that entry.It is not possible to replace the 4 power actionswith application shortcuts!To change the order of application shortcuts on thepanel, please press menu key and hit ‘unselect all’,then select the application shortcuts from the listin the order you want them.Only those with a checkmark next to them will beshown on the panel!

Set status bar options

Here you control what should be shown on thestatus bar and notification panel. You also selecthow it should be shown!

Show quick settings panel

If checked then the Quick settings panel is shown

when you drag down the notification panel.

Show brightness panel

If checked then the brightness panel is shownwhen you drag down the notification panel.The brightness panel consists of an icon and a

slider to control the screen brightness.The icon tells you what brightness value will becontrolled if you move the slider. There are 6different values that the slider can control. One formanual brightness and 5 values for the 5 levels ofauto-brightness:

1) Auto- brightness lowest value is used when lightsensor says lux value is less than 15 (level 1)2) Auto-brightness low value if lux >15 and < 150(level 2)

3) Auto- brightness mid value if lux >150 and <1500 (level 3)4) Auto-brightness high value if lux >1500 and less

than 15000 ( level 4)5) Auto- brightness highest value if lux>15000(level 5)

Each level is converted to a value between 1 and255. That value is the value used to set thebrightness of the screen. The default values are:40, 110 , 160, 220 and 255 .

And dim screen has the value 20 . And if powersaving is enabled then screen brightness can beset to 10.

But the auto- brightness slider is made so youdon’t have to think about numbers. You simplyadjust the brightness using the slider until you findit looks good incurrent lightconditions.

The 5 auto-brightness icons looklike this:

So the slider adjusts only the screen brightnessvalue for the auto- brightness level detected by thelight sensor. The slider goes from 5 to 255. This

way you only need to adjust the screen so it looksgood at the current light level. Eventually all 5levels will look good on your screen. This is usefulbecause not all screens are equal in brightness. Sosome people might adjust it up a bit while othersmay want to adjust it down… either to save batteryor if the screen is too bright!

Show quick launch panel

If checked then the quick launch panel is shownbelow the quick settings panel and below theBrightness panel (if visible). The quick launch

panel can be used to launch applications directlyfrom the notification panel. Tip: Add Settings.apkto the launch panel. If you press Settings.apk thenyou can get to settings quickly. If you long pressapplication icons on the launch panel then DeluxeSettings will be launched.

Show carrier label panel

If check then the carrier label panel is visible onthe notification bar. The carrier label panel also

shows the date and the clear button for removingnotifications.If the carrier label panel is hidden then the date will

be shown on the drag bar.

Show quickbutton text

If checked then the text below the quick buttons isvisible. If not the there is more room fornotifications.

Auto collapse statusbar

If checked then the notification bar willautomatically be hidden after a quick settingsbutton has been pressed.

Show 6 quick toggles

If checked then if there are more than 5 quicksettings button on the quick settings panel then 6buttons will be visible at the same time instead ofonly 5.

Confirm power off

If checked then a confirmation dialog will beshown when pressing one of the 4 power buttons:reboot, recovery, download or shutdown. This

options applies to both the quick settings paneland the quick launch panel.

Transparent on desktop

If checked then the status bar is semi transparentwhile on the desktop and in applications. Thismeans that the applications background can beseen through the status bar. If the application hasa white background then the status bar will be

gray!

Show clock

If checked then the clock will be visible on thestatus bar.

Center clock

If checked then the clock will be positioned at thecenter of the status bar. If there are manynotification icons then these might overlap withthe clock. But it is possible to hide many icons ifso desired.

Show clock on lockscreen

If checked then the clock will also be visible whileon the lock screen. This may be wanted if the

widget clock on the lock screen is hidden.

Append AM / PM to clock

If checked the AM and PM will be placed after theclock. But these are only visible if ‘Use 24-hourformat’ is checked under ‘Date and time’ of the

phone standard settings.

Add leading zero to hour

If checked then a leading zero will be visible on theclocks hour if needed. Like 09:00 instead of the9:00. But no zero is added if the hour is 2 digitslike 11:00.

Add day to clock

If checked then the day will be prepended to thetime, like Fri 22:59

Theme clock

If checked then the clock will be themed in thethemes color. If theme stock Samsung rom then

the theme color is green.

Use custom date format

If checked then the date format will be like: 8 Jun,Fri instead of 2012 - 06 - 08 . This is for the date

shown on the quick settings panel or then dragbar.

Show battery icon

If checked then the battery icon is visible on thestatus bar. This toggle shows or hides normal orpercentage battery icon.

Show battery % icon

If checked then a battery with percentage will beshown instead of the stock battery icon.

Depended on the theme this icon can come indifferent shapes and colors.

Show battery % text

If checked then the battery percentage text will beshown on the status bar.

Theme battery text

If checked then the battery percentage text will beshown in theme color. Stock theme color is green.

Show signal icon

If checked then the GSM signal icon will be shownon the status bar.

Use 6 signal bars

If checked then 6 bars will be used on the statusbar instead of only 4. Full 6 bars requires the samesignal strength as 4 bars when using 4 bars.

Show data icon

If checked then the data icon will be visible on thestatus bar.

Show wifi icon

If checked then the Wi- Fi icon will be visible on thestatus bar. This also toggles the Wi- Fi in/ out off.

Show roaming icon

If checked then then R icon will be visible abovethe signal icon when roaming.

Show asu levelIf checked then the ASU level will be shown abovethe signal icon. If Show roaming icon is checkedthen the ASU level will be hidden when roaming.ASU means Arbitrary Strength Unit.ASU ranges between 0 and 31, where 0 means nosignal as 31 is highest signal strength. dBm iscalculated as 2*ASU -113.

Show wifi in/ out arrows.

If checked then the in/ out arrows are visible belowthe Wi- Fi signal icon.

Theme connection icons

If checked then Wi- Fi, data and signal icons will bein theme color.

If checked then Wi- Fi, data and signal icons will bein theme color only if phone is fully connected toGoogle servers.

Show alarm icon

If checked then the alarm icon will be visible in the

status bar if an alarm has been set.

Show next alarm info

If checked then the information about the nextalarm will be shown on the drag bar.

Show silent icon

If checked then the silent icon and vibrate icon willbe visible on the status bar when they are in use.

Show bluetooth icon

If checked then the Bluetooth icon will be visibleon the status bar when enabled.

Bluetooth on notification

If checked then a notification will be sent whenBluetooth is being enabled.

Full charge notification

If checked then a notification will be sent when thebattery is full.

Low battery notificationIf checked the a notification will be sent when thebattery is at 15% and again at 5%.

Theme notification text

If checked then the ticker text when a notification

arrives will be themed in the theme color.

Play USB connect sound

If checked then there will be played a sound whenconnecting the USB cable.

Temp. screen timeout

If checked then the ‘Screen on’ quick settingsbutton will toggle a temporary screen time-out.

Otherwise it will be a normal screen timeout thatalso is set after the screen has turned off.

Set screen on toggle

If pressed then a dialog with custom Screen time-out values will be shown. Value range is from 1minute to 3 hours and 30 minutes. The selectedvalue determines the custom time-out used whenpressing the Screen on quick settings button.

Phone options dialogOptions in the section are

for controlling the phoneoptions dialog shown whenyou press and hold thepower button for 1½seconds.Note: The phone will poweroff if the power button is

pressed for more than 6seconds.

Edit phone options

Here you can select and order the settings andactions on the phone options dialog. A list of all of

them will be shown.The order of the actions on the dialog is set by theorder they are selected from the list. Press menu toReset or Unselect all on the list. So a fast way ofselecting and ordering the phone options dialogitems, is to first unselect all and then select them

in the order they shall be shown.

The following sett ings can be turn on or off: Silentmode, Data network mode, Flight mode, Auto-brightness, Auto-rotate screen, Auto-sync,Bluetooth, Vibration mode, Wi- Fi, Use GPSsatellites and Portable Wi- Fi hotspot.

And the follow actions can be performed:Accessibility, Screen capture, Restart, Power off,Recovery and Download.

Back button long pressHere you control how back button should react

when being long pressed.

Kill foreground app.

If checked then the foreground application will bekilled. But only if it is neither a system app nor ahome application.

Timeout

When pressed you can select the timeout for whenan application is to be killed.

Home button double clickHere you control what the home button double

click action should be.

Double click enabled

If checked then double clicking home button willstart the selected action.If you find that it takes too long after pressing the

home button until home screen shown up then youcan disable double click.

Enabled on lock screen

If checked then double clicking home button willstart the selected action also when on the lock

screen. This can also be used for unlocking thephone.

Fast double click

If checked then double click time-out is only 350ms instead of 500 msThis makes double click a little faster but it can bedifficult to double click fast enough!

Set misc options

Fast screen off

If checked then the screen will turn off faster thannormal. Please note that CRT off will have noeffect if Fast screen off is enabled.

CRT off effectIf checked then the screen will turn off like the oldCRT televisions. Please note that ‘CRT off effect’will have no effect if Fast screen off is enabled.

Volume key skips track

If checked then the volume keys can be used forgoing to next track or back to previous track.These functions only work when the screen is offand music is playing.



They also work when FM radio is playing but here itfinds the next station or the previous station.

Volume Lock

If checked then the notifications volume will belocked to the ringtone volume. This means that ifyou press the volume down button and turn downthe ringtone volume then you will also turn downthe notification volume. And if you turn up the

ringtone volume to maximum using the volumebuttons then you will also turn up the notificationsvolume.

Confirm backup/ restore

If checked then a confirmation dialog is shown

when you want to backup and restore Deluxesettings to/ from SD card.
