Building 201
• Building 201 was built in 1907 to serve as a cavalry drill hall where horses could be trained regardless of weather.

• Building 201 is a 35,000 square foot building on a six acre site.
• Building 201 was used for storage space after Fort Snelling was decommissioned in 1946.

• The Minneapolis Park Board purchased the building in 2000 for $850,000 to be used as a practice facility for the Wild
• That never happened.

• More bad decisions cost the Minneapolis Park Board $4 million to have Building 201 boarded up for seven years.

• On October 31, 2007 the Northern Star Council signed an agreement to purchase Building 201 for $4 million.

• The Northern Star Council invested $5 million to renovate Building 201 and create Base Camp.
• Base Camp opened on October 1st, 2010 the 100th anniversary of the founding of the St. Paul Council
