We all put an end to 2019 in our own way, so let s start out the new year on a positive note of good health and happiness. Let s make 2020 a great year supporting our Veterans, community and our Legion. Volunteering is a great way to act on this support. It doesnt matter if its just a couple hours, baking a dessert or decorating for an event, all volunteer hours make a difference! A big thank-you goes out to all our bingo players and Legion Family members who supported our Food Drive. We delivered the food to the HCS Family Resource & Youth Services Center to help the children through the holiday break. ` Breakfast with Santa and Christmas With Our Veterans in the Carl Brashear Veterans Center were a big success. Thanks to all who helped support these two wonderful events. Dinner for our WWII and Ko- rean War Veterans was a great way for our Legion families to honor our heroes and say Thank-you! Thanks to the Legion for hosting this event and thanks to our volunteers to help make it happen. Come out Saturday, 11 January for our All-You-Can-Eat Breakfast. We are also honoring our 1 st Re- sponders with a free breakfast, so if you see one of our 1 st Responders, please give them a big thank-you for their service. 2019 has come to a close and another year of riding, fundraising, volunteering and helping our sur-

rounding communities has been completed. The American Legion Riders Post 113 continue to make a difference

in peoples lives and helping communities and organizations throughout the year. Thank you to every Rider for

what you do everyday in supporting the four Pillars of the American Legion.

December has been a busy month visiting veterans in the surrounding nursing homes, to include the Carl

Brashear Veterans Home, and bringing them Christmas cheer and singing Christmas songs to them, which al-

ways puts a smile on their faces. The ALR Christmas party was a grand time with great food, friends, ornament

exchange, and gift drawings. A very grateful thank you to all the riders that prepared, decorated, and emceed this

annual event.

On December 14th, we were out in force supporting the Wreaths Across America by placing wreaths on

the veteran’s graves, to include our riders and supporters that have passed away over the years. There were over

6000 wreaths laid at the Radcliff Veterans Cemetery Central this year.

Bingo is our main fundraiser and I would like to say how grateful we are to have the volunteers from all

the families help out and make this fundraiser the success it is. Our players are supportive of our charitable con-

tributions and thank them for supporting us as well.

In closing, I wish everyone a Happy New Year! Ride safe but above all have fun!
