Message from the President – Doreen Driscoll
It has been a busy and fun Fall season of activities. The Fall Fashion Show was well attended.
The outfits were interesting, different, and attractive. Some of our members attended the
CPO Rehearsal in October and the ATCO Lunch and Learn in November. The Walking group
Christmas lunch took place on a very cold, windy day. We didn’t go for our usual walk, but
did enjoy the lunch and visiting. Thanks to Marlene Lenstra for being such a welcoming
hostess. The Christmas Party was again held at the Calgary Golf and Country Club. It was a
cold blustery night outside but warm and welcoming inside. The music of Jana and Danny is
always great and fun for dancing. A small group of us were the last to leave. I’m sure we
could have danced a few more numbers.
I hosted the December Executive meeting and luncheon at my home. We had a lovely time
chatting and comparing notes about our Christmas plans.
When we reconvene in January, it will be for Snowflake Bridge. That is always a fun event.
I hope all of you had a blessed and enjoyable Christmas full of fun, family, good food and lots
of visiting.
Message from Past President - Lorna Komery
On Wednesday November 30th, while we were still enjoying warm sunny days, I hosted a Past

The hostess is responsible for choosing the date and deciding how many folks she can
comfortably handle
The hostess will provide the venue and tea and coffee. The guests bring a bottle wine and a
dish to share - the hostess may suggest the category (appetizer, main dish, vegetable, dessert).
This group welcomes all: singles and couples. Singles may be asked to bring either a bottle of
wine or a dish to share.
Members phone or e-mail the gracious hostess to reserve their spot - with or without a
spouse.
We never seem to have any difficulty filling in the numbers attending as decided by the
hostess and in the past we have all had a wonderful time meeting in smaller groups.
We are in need of hostesses to keep this fun activity afloat.
Please contact Kathi Hamilton at: [email protected] or phone 403 226 4993 to offer to
hostess.
