Issue No 18 Term 3 Week 5 Date 21 August 2020 We make a difference, every child matters every day. A note from Mrs Swanson - Principal Revised COVID-19 Updates This week we were asked to further revise some of our preventative practices at school. For us, this meant that we had to put choir and band on hold, as well as limiting interactions between grades when in confined spaces. Additionally, there have been stricter expectations around staff and student illness. In accordance with advice from NSW Health, parents and carers are reminded not to send children to school if they are unwell, even if they have the mildest flu-like symptoms. Schools will make arrangements for students who present as unwell or have flu like symptoms to be sent home, with the expectation that they will be tested for COVID-19. These symptoms include but are not limited to: Fever (37.50 or higher) Cough Sore/scratchy throat Shortness of breath Loss of smell/taste Nausea / Vomiting Fatigue Runny nose Joint Pain Headache Diarrhoea Notifications of absences must include a reason i.e. symptoms. Notifications via Dojo or class teachers will not be accepted, they must come through the school office. Skoolbag, email, phone and written notes are all acceptable forms of communication. Parenting Corner This week: Staying the course in COVID times School Photos It was lovely to see all ABPS students and staff ready for school photos yesterday.
