Helen and Lee’s Wedding was held at the elegant Kedleston Hall with their reception held in a stunning tipi within the

grounds of the grand hall – which was a first for Kedleston. Helen and Lee celebrated their wedding surrounded by incredible countryside views, in a magnificent floral styled tipi with all their friends and family. Here is Helen to tell us all about it;

“We both fell in love with Kedleston Hall many years ago. Not only do we love the history and architectural design of Kedleston Hall, we also love exploring the 800 acres of magnificent grounds with our little boy - we simply love the outdoors! Kedleston Hall is a blank canvas and therefore gave us the opportunity to create our very own wedding - 100% personal to us which was obviously very appealing. Lee and I wanted to combine our style, personalities and our love for the great outdoors with the romantic grandeur of Kedleston Hall. The elegance of the interior of Kedleston Hall creates such a romantic ambience and complimented the theme of our wedding perfectly plus the interior is spectacular with its marble pillars, distinctive blue wallpaper, intricate gold trimmings and hidden little treasures showing a true tale of romance.

Lee and I married within the domed Saloon central to the hall and opted to continue our celebrations within the grounds in a tipi. Although we had two separate venues, we wanted the same style to flow throughout to connect the two. We chose the blue from the distinctive wallpaper as our base colour adding touches of gold and dusky pink along the way. We wanted to create a relaxed and fun setting for our reception, and we knew that with the help of Peaktipis we could create this! The tipi was surrounded with stunning panoramic

views, a quaint orangery and small treed areas to explore, it really was a breathtaking location that our guests thoroughly enjoyed.

The setting was everything I could wish for and more. We chose to use a lot of flowers for our styling. With the help of my amazing sister, the florist of the family, we went a little crazy and created larger than life arrangements. I was really keen on creating an ambience with floral scents. I wanted the tipis to not only look amazing but smell amazing too! We had so many comments on the flowers and how fabulous they looked; we even had a flower wall courtesy of Fabric Theatre created to sit behind the top table; it looked incredible and was a real talking point. Our caterers, Black Peppermint did an amazing job and not only provided the superb food but also worked with the other suppliers to ensure the entire day and evening ran seamlessly. I cannot recommend the team at Black Peppermint enough and the singing waiters were a real shock for all our guests and just topped the whole dining experience off.

We were so fortunate to work with the best suppliers in the wedding industry for our wedding day ... A big thank you to Just Ben for getting everyone up on the dance floor (and keeping them there!) plus being our master of ceremony; Jo & Peter at Dennisson Classic Cars for providing the wonderful cars and Cathy at Oehlers for presenting us with the most treasured images of our special day which we will cherish forever. There are far too many amazing wedding suppliers to mention each and every one but they are all listed and I want to say a huge thank you to you all. Lee and I had the most magical day; if only we could do it all again!”

A romantic, winter inspired wedding was our last for 2015, and was a beautiful one to end on at one of our favourite venues –

Yeldersley Hall.

We met with Liz and Richard just 7 weeks before their wedding which they planned in just over three months and were lucky enough to be able to style and set the day up for them. The brief was simple - lots of candles, lots of flowers and lovely finishing touches.

We source props and offer a hire service too so this appealed to our couple as it took the stress out of them having to do this. Working with some incredible suppliers for signage and flowers the whole theme tied together just beautifully with a candlelit ceremony and rustic winter table scape for the wedding breakfast. All captured by the amazing photographer Ann Kathrin Koch (http://www.annkathrinkoch.com).

At Tickety Boo Events we offer a hire and styling service which can include as much or as little as couples would like. We have a relaxed

approach and want to ensure that the day is as they have envisaged, reflecting them as a couple with personal touches and details.

If you are looking to marry in 2016 we would love to hear from you and how we can help to style your day.

Tell us a little bit about Eliza Vintage, how does it work?We are a wedding and event hire business based in Lincolnshire. We have a beautifully restored, quintessentially British 1960’s vintage caravan, a Cheltenham Sable, to hire for weddings and hen parties, glamping breaks plus other events and celebrations.

Eliza our caravan, can be used as a photo booth, a pretty vintage backdrop at the grounds of your wedding reception venue, a vintage candy caravan, or even somewhere to serve your welcome drink from. She can also be used for vintage hen parties and afternoon tea parties.Alongside our caravan, we specialise in original, bespoke Alice in Wonderland Mad Hatter’s Tea Parties as a hen party! If you wanted to go all the way we can even help with an Alice themed wedding too. We have various basic hire packages available. All come with a vintage hostess, dressed to impress. We pride ourselves on making each experience unique so all our prices are quoted on an individual basis.

What kind of wedding would your caravan suit?We generally appeal to vintage themed weddings. Alongside the caravan we also have vintage props that are also available to hire separately if desired, from old rustic suitcases, shabby chic vintage ladders, bunting, an old 1950’s vintage bicycle. As part of our hire packages we can also decorate the area outside the caravan, to give it a real vintage theme, depending on the type of wedding.

Do you offer your services for hen weekends and special occasions or just weddings? All of our services can be hired and adapted for anything! Alongside our vintage hen parties, using the caravan and our

themed Alice in Wonderland parties, we hire out beautifully furnished bell tents. These can be used for hen weekends/camps, honeymoon, slumber parties, somewhere for the children to play in at a summer wedding (especially a festival style/outdoor wedding), all dressed pretty and vintage, the possibilities are endless. We are always happy and excited to discuss all the options available to make your day truly unique and special.

How far do you travel? We can cover the whole of the East Midlands, we are willing to consider further afield too. Our prices would reflect the distance and length of hire involved.

What do your past clients love the most about their hire experience....Our past clients absolutely love how Eliza has been renovated and decorated to such a hire standard, our Pip Studio wallpaper always gets lots of attention. People love to sit in Eliza enjoying an afternoon cream tea (we can do catering too!), relaxing or having fun taking lots of photos with our vintage props whilst posing with a glass of bubbly. We have had lots of positive feedback from our clients who have hired our bell tents for slumber parties, whether for children or adults, please see our Facebook and Instagram pages to keep up to date with our recent events to get a full idea of the type of service we can provide for your special day!

Sometimes it isn’t easy finding the perfect gifts for your bridesmaids and groomsmen.

You want a gift that says thank you for making your wedding day such a wonderful occasion and that tells them how much they mean to you. We at Save the Date are here to help! We’ve looked high and low in search of the best gift ideas for your friends and family who have played their part in your big day...

We believe the best gifts are those that can be used on the day, as well as being great keepsakes that can be displayed or used over and over again. For your bridesmaids something like a make-up bag or tote bag would be great. You could fill it with goodies that your bridesmaids could use on the day, like cosmetics, deodorant and moisturisers. Another fabulous gift for your bridesmaids would be matching dressing gowns or pyjamas; like a bridal uniform that brings you all together on the morning of your wedding. They don’t have to be exactly matching, why not go

for a floral design in a number of different colours. Imagine how glamorous your getting ready images will look! The best way to make your gifts that little bit more special and more meaningful is to have them personalised. Suppliers on websites such as Etsy and Not On The High Street often offer a personalisation service where they can engrave your gifts. Add your bridesmaids and groomsmen names onto their gifts to give it that added personal touch. You could even add the date of your wedding so that they will always remember the day no matter how long ago it was.Your groomsmen might not be as impressed with make-up bags and silky dressing gowns so you might have to think slightly differently when buying their gifts. ‘Manly’ items such as pen knifes, bottle openers and beer carriers are much more favoured. Again, these are keepsakes that retain the memory of your wedding day, whilst being a useful item for years to come. Wouldn’t it be lovely to know that every time your best man opens a beer with a bottle opener you gave him, he smiles as he is reminded of your wedding (and perhaps the antics the groomsmen might have got up to!)

Kerry runs the amazing Tineke Flowers and has been a friend of us at Save the Date Magazine for many years so we are beyond

excited to share her incredible wedding day with you.

It was important to Kerry and Andy that their day would be relaxed and stress free and so they hopped on a plane and married in a villa surrounded by the beautiful countryside of Tuscany, Italy.

“I would describe our theme as rustic elegance. We wanted our wedding to be timeless, elegant and relaxed. I would say the wedding dress, suits, bridesmaids and flowers all created the elegant touch. To contrast with the elegance we were keen to use props such as exposed wood tables for the wedding breakfast to create an authentic rustic style. One of the main reasons for marrying in Italy (apart from the obvious beauty of the place) was for the laid back and relaxed attitude of the Italians. We were keen to keep the food and wine typically Tuscan, and left most of the choices to our fabulous chef, Antonio. Having been together for over 14 years, we were keen to be as relaxed and stress free as possible on our big day.

The venue was out of this world, it was the first place we visited and as soon as we walked down the tree lined drive, we knew it was for us. It was out in the sticks, around a 2 hour drive from Pisa, but every single guest absolutely loved it. The venue enabled everyone to stay close but still having their own lovely “holiday” space. We loved the fact that we and the main family could stay for an entire week with guests arriving for our 3 day celebration. The villa’s decor was typically Tuscan which is exactly what we wanted for our wedding. My beautiful friend Avie who once worked at my business Tineke Floral Designs, along with Bro-maids John and Shaun, created my wedding flowers for us. I think they may have underestimated the amount of flowers ordered, with poor Avie still running around right

up until the ceremony, but it was all worth it. Conditioning the flowers a couple of days before the wedding, with my friends and family was really good fun and quite surreal - drinking the villa’s wine made it even more fun! I chose Timeless Couture for my wedding dress, Astra, the designer for Timeless Couture was amazing from start to finish. From sketch to fitting on the wedding day, Astra sketched a dress based on my ideas, then created a toile and ideas evolved from there. She is so creative and talented and the experience was unforgettable. Matt Brown photographed the day. As well as being a very good friend, he was fantastic on the day in challenging and unexpected weather conditions! (We experienced a rather epic storm!) Matt has a very relaxed and laid back approach and created emotional images that we will cherish forever. Lara Elliott was our videographer. Lara is very lovely, very unobtrusive and we are really looking forward to seeing the video she created, I hear that she captured the rumbling thunder! Cristina Lazzarotto was our make-up artist and made us all feel stunning on the day and we had the fabulous James White do our hair. He was a whizz on the day, creating gorgeous hair for ten ladies and one bro-maid. Our wedding rings were by Rachel Helen Designs. Antonio Gambaro was our caterer for the wedding breakfast. The food was incredible! People are still talking about it, especially the steak! He supplied a pizza party for the day before, then a traditional Tuscan banquet for the wedding and finally a BBQ for the day after. Bespoke Tailor created the suits for the husband and best man. We used Gracie Bleu Bridal Menswear for ushers, bro-maids and father’s suits. We got

beautiful cards and door hangers that we used for our guests itinerary for the three days from Best Day Ever. We had a Queen Tribute band called Mercury for the entertainment at the pizza party with the lead singer Joseph dancing to Queen on a terrace in Tuscany – an incredible memory I will never forget! Our wedding was just perfect. After 14 years together, it was so amazing to have such a gorgeous 3 days with our close friends and immediate family. The weather was typically our luck, as there was a cyclone in Australia when Andy proposed too but I wouldn’t have changed it for the world. Just perfect.

Marcus, what made you decide to become a photographer? At 10 years old I was given my first camera and I have been obsessed since then. While I was studying Photography at University I developed a real passion for shooting Fashion. I still do a lot of fashion photography in my Nottingham studio and I cannot help this style creeping into my wedding work. What do you enjoy the most about photographing a couples big day? I enjoy interacting with the couple and getting the best possible shots that I can by putting them at ease and making the process as stress free as possible while realising the vision that they had for their big day. What element of the day do you enjoy the most? It is hard for me to pick one part. I love shooting the service itself, capturing all the genuine emotion expressed by the bride

and groom while they are focusing on the ceremony. I also love shooting the newly married couple in innovative environments around the wedding venues. I want each couple to feel that they’re wedding shots are unique and representative of them as a couple. How would you describe your style of photography? I like to capture modern, playful, spontaneous moments and juxtapose them with poised, intimate and classic shots. I want to capture your big day as perfectly as you remember it.

At vintagebooth.me we’ve always loved Save the Date, so as we enter our fourth year of taking our booths to your

wonderful weddings, we thought there was no better place to announce that we’ve now built another booth for you all! That means all those many, many summer weekends that have been fully booked since forever, are up for grabs again as new recruit Anna starts taking out our third booth. We’ve grown from just one man, to have Thom, Vic, Dan & now Anna on board. We’ve been from Cornwall to Cumbria and Eastbourne to Edinburgh with the trusty booths, and we’re always looking for ways to make things that little bit more special. As big fans of Save the Date Mag and of course their awesome shows, we wanted to recognise that we wouldn’t be where we are now without our local collaborations with mega-talent. Be it our carpentry

by John’s Rustic Furniture in Barton-in-Fabis or our signs from Orange Tree Weddings. We’ve had cake moustaches in the booth from Yummy Little Cakes (you heard - CAKE MOUSTACHES) and are looking forward to a collab with Polly & Me in 2016. There’s nothing more rewarding than being a part of so many beautiful wedding days, so if you would like to book - now would be an excellent time. Check out vintagebooth.me for more on us, the booths and to check if we’re free for your wedding day! Hope to hear from you soon! Lee, Thom, Vic & Anna xvintagebooth.me

Your wedding day will be one of the most important days of your life. When it comes to your appearance, you will want to

look and feel like the most perfect version of yourself. The look that you choose will be captured and looked back on in years to come, therefore it is advisable to arrange the help of a bridal make up artist.

Looking and feeling amazing on your wedding day is paramount, as you will be in the spotlight you will want to feel confident. Most brides still want to look like themselves but a more perfected version and they want reassurance that the make up will last throughout the day until night. My job is to help and advise you. I am incredibly passionate about my work as a professional bridal makeup artist and I absolutely love creating the perfect makeup look for each one of my brides; soft and natural or something a little more glamorous as you desire. I will work with you to create a look that enhances your own natural beauty and personal style. Having worked as a make up artist since 2007 and cosmetologist for over 20 years, I have

gained extensive knowledge and experience and have been chosen by hundreds of brides to create the perfect look for them. I have had training at various schools including one-to- one training with Linda M Brown of Linda M Brown London Makeup Academy. Linda was trained at the world renowned Glauca Rossi Makeup Academy where the famous celebrity makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury trained. Linda progressed to become a trainer there herself before launching her own academy. The brands I use are MAC, Bobbi Brown, Chanel, Clinique and Clarins. They are carefully selected for their durability. I use Airbase for my airbrushing choice of makeup. Based in Leicestershire/Rutland boarder, I cover the East Midlands and on occasion further afield as I don’t mind travelling. I hope to have the pleasure of meeting with you.

Jack Barton of vintage styling company, Pretty Quirky Hire shares with us a photo shoot which took place at the charming

Fort Henry.

“The Voyage of Love came together after a site visit to a venue I had been stalking for a while. Fort Henry is a dreamy and quaint venue set on a beautiful lake in the middle of the Exton Estate. Seeking some inspiration from different sources like watching “The Wind in the Willows” helped bring the style of the shoot together. A secret elegant charm by the waters edge encapsulated everything I wanted this shoot to be. I love all things nautical and with the lake it only seemed natural to include a boat in the shoot. Following lots of hard work from our dream team of suppliers, it was then left to the skill of the Harvey & Harvey duo to capture the day. As ever they embraced the challenge full on and Adrian even donned his waders! I knew nothing would be missed and the end results highlight how well and hard the team worked.”

Quality handmade vintage inspired pieces worn at the back of the head, beautiful from every angle

Lottie has been designing and hand making her wonderful wedding accessories for just over three years. She graduated from University ‘Leeds College of Fashion’, interned and then worked for a Nottingham bridal designer before setting up herown wedding accessories business in 2012. She also qualifiedas a hairdresser at Toni and Guy this summer.

Lottie loves the whole experience; how wonderful that her brides can try a variety of headpieces whilst undertaking a hair trial

with a specialist. Lottie can also design you a bespoke piece, maybe even incorporating a piece of your own jewellery that might be special to you. These worn at the back of the head pieces are only a tiny sample of what we do. Why not take a look at our website and see our collections of gorgeous and lovingly made combs, head bands, slides, tiaras, vines, garters, vintage jewellery and details regarding commissioned pieces.

We spoke with the talented Marie Anson to find out all about the creative wedding of Matt and Lynsey

she had the pleasure of photographing:

“Matt and Lynsey are two of the most talented creatives I have had the pleasure of working with. Both are skilled designers

and I always knew that their wedding day would be a reflection of their combined skills, talents and individuality”.

“It’s safe to say that almost all weddings are created on a very specific budget. Matt and Lynsey were no different. They knew they were going to have an amazing wedding day but it would be on a very strict budget as they have a beautiful home and garden which is

gradually being renovated and that had to remain their priority with the finances. So when there are corners to be cut, they did what was

necessary, and rolled up their sleeves and got on with doing it all.”

Thanks to Marie for sharing this beautiful wedding with us.Photography by www.marieansonphotography.com

Let me introduce you to ‘Betty’ our absolutely adorable cutest of caravans!! She was eagerly purchased by us (two sisters Helen

and Louise) in 2014 as an addition to our professional cake baking business Le Petit Gateau, based in Chesterfield on the edge of the beautiful peak district.

We wanted to create something unique, and merge our passion for baking with our quirky nostalgic love of caravans, a direct result of lots of wonderful memories of childhood family holidays on the Great British coast where the simple things in life family, friends and fun were all that mattered. Betty is a 1972 vintage caravan, she has been renovated to a high standard using pastel shades to compliment any wedding colour scheme, and is available to hire along with a range of quality accessories including props, garden games and a Polaroid camera, to enable you to capture all the excitement as it happens!! Or alternatively why not incorporate beautiful Betty into your wedding celebration as a ‘favour shop’, where your guests can pop inside to choose their gift from you. We will happily fill her full of your chosen present, all displayed to perfection, sweets, cupcakes or jars full of your favourite preserves (all baked by us if you wish!!) or whatever your heart desires.

Le Petit Gateau is our bespoke cake design company offering beautiful and delicious homemade wedding and celebration cakes,

where a friendly service awaits. We take great pride in our work, and are passionate about producing work of the highest levels, to create the perfect centrepiece for your day.

We truly think our versatility, our relationship as sisters and our belief that weddings should be all about enjoying yourselves with your loved ones allows us to offer something different. We want to capture that childlike feeling of fun (we regularly reminisce about) and ensure its present during your special day. How we do that is left entirely to the bride and groom. So whether playing garden games and taking Polaroid pictures of the rivalry, having your very own retro caravan sweet shop complete with your old childhood favourites (pear drops, cola cubes etc.) or having an unusual themed wedding cake sounds like the perfect addition to your wedding we’d be happy to help.

We want our prospective couples to dare to be different and have the confidence to try something new. Our services and ‘Betty’ are so adaptable we’re certain we can help make any wedding that little bit more personal.
