e-Traction have successfully implemented the next generation of in-wheel motor technology by working alongside Yangzhou Asiastar Bus Co. and TeT Drive Technology Co. Founded in 1949, Asiastar produces a range of buses in Yangzhou and Xiamen, China. As Asiastar already produces other environmentally-friendly buses, the adoption of in-wheel motor technology is a great next step in creating efficient vehicles.

Another success story is the Elways project in Sweden. The purpose was to demonstrate a smart road system for charging electric vehicles, including electric trucks. Today this system is operational in the Stockholm area. e-Traction has integrated their in-wheel motor system and has ‘electrified’ a complete truck based on a DAF LF and performed the complete integration with the necessary systems.

Based on a VDL Citea platform, e-Traction and VDL have built a full electric bus for Stadtwerke Münster in Germany. Full integration of the in-wheel motor technology has been performed and in addition, e-Traction system technology was used for energy management and charging. After the successful demonstration, Stadtwerke Münster now has several buses running with more to come.
