Exercise 1 Perform Additional Configuration Steps

Scenario Each time you log on to the Virtual Machine, youll be required to accept the EULA after pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete. A copy of the full EULA is available on the desktop of the VM.

In addition, each time the desktop loads, a server warmup script will run. The script hits SharePoint sites so they load faster the first time you access them. Generally, you will want to wait until the script finishes running before beginning your work.

This lab begins immediately after a SharePoint 2010 installation would have completed. Your virtual machine is already configured with SharePoint 2010 RC, FAST Search, SQL Server 2008 R2, SharePoint Designer 2010, Office 2010 RC, and several other programs. There are six web applications that already exist on the farm (some even have content), but you wont be using these. Instead, youll be creating your own web application which youll use throughout these labs.
