Why it Matters to You!• This project created a bond between the

local Farmville community and Longwood University

• This event helped to breakdown some of the stereotypes that Longwood students have about the community.

• After this presentation we hope you will leave with a better understanding of our event and how theory effects our organizational communication

Smart Goals• Specific goal- To promote the Youth Empowerment Center and

raise money for their organization• Measureable- To achieve our goal of raising the organization

money, we set an amount of $200. To make sure the organization was promoted well we wanted at least 30 people to attend

• Attainable- This event worked well with our budget because the venue was free and any food or raffle prizes were donated

• Relevant- We incorporated the children from the center in the event if they are interested. This will help integrate the students of Longwood into the community more and promote the center by connecting the children with new people.

• Timely- We needed to book the basketball court, the teams, and any food or raffle items we might need
