Important Dates & Contacts
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
It is a great pleasure and honor to extend you a warm invitation to attend the 33rd World Veterinary Congress (WVC Incheon,
KOREA 2017) from August 27(Sun) to 31(Thu), 2017 at the Incheon Songdo ConvensiA, KOREA.
The WVC Incheon, KOREA 2017 is jointly organized by the World Veterinary Association (WVA) and the Korean Veterinary
Medical Association (KVMA). We are very excited to be hosting this time-honored international congress, held 32 times since
its inaugural meeting in 1863, in Korea as it is the second Congress to be held in Asia.
The Congress is planning a fabulous program and various events not only to promote and raise awareness of One Health, a
concept that recognizes that the health of humans is connected to the health of animals and the environment, but to provide
a wonderful forum for finding pathways to development.
Under the theme “One Health, New Wave”, the scientific program will feature insightful sessions categorized into 24 streams
with distinguished experts as invited speakers, including a session highlighting the countermeasures against malignant
infectious diseases in animals such as AI (H5N1, H7N9), the zoonosis that kills hundreds of people across the world every
year, and FMD.
Furthermore, the Global Seminar on Animal Welfare, the 4th WVA Global Summit, collaboration with the Korean Medical
Association and joint meetings with other organizations of the medical community will be held with the focus on One Health
Initiative, making the Congress an unprecedented platform for leading technology and trends.
During the Congress, every participant will take part in creating an agenda about the social roles of veterinarians that will be
defined in the bill of rights and ethics guidelines. Based on the agenda, VET VISION 2050 will be declared to articulate our
aspirations and to provide a guide for development. The Congress will also establish a reciprocal communication system
between veterinarians and the industry to foster mutual advancement and offer the industry an opportunity for marketing and
promotion for export.
We look forward to seeing all of you in Incheon.
Thank you.
