The Intha people (‘Intha’ meaning lake dweller) who live fully on the lake, building their houses on stilts and using resources of the lake for business, such as farming the floating gardens. They travel across the lake using their unique style of leg rowing. Now famous for the leg rowing fishermen, you can see the Intha people and their relaxed ways of life. Farming the floating gardens, creating handicrafts in the local workshops, getting around by long tail boats and living in the houses built on stilts on the lake. Venues here includes the Novotel Inle Lake Myat Min Hotel, which can fit 300 pax, and the Sofitel Inle Lake Myat Min Hotel, which can fit 100 pax.
