Present Status ofthe project:
The environmental clearance issued during 2010 is for of 5 x 9 MVA + 1 x 5.4 MVAElectric Arc Furnaces along with Captive Power Plant (coal based) 2 x 36 MW and gasbased 4 x 9 MW. For that the project authority had obtained an amendment on 26thFebruary 2013. The Ferro Alloy plant originally was with a capacity of 5 x 9 MVA + 1x 5.4 MVA Electric Arc Furnaces along with Captive Power Plant (coal based) 2 x36MW and gas based 4 x 9 MW. Instead as stated above the PA have obtained anamendment of for only Captive Power Plant i.e. instead of 4 x 9 MW gas based PowerPlant, they have gone for 1 x 36 MW Coal based unit. There is no change in the FerroAlloy Plant. Instead of 2x36 MW coal based now the PA have installed 3 x 36 MW coalbased Power Plant Units.
The Ferro Alloy Plant is being r:un @ of above 60oh capacity as on today and out of 3Captive Power Plant Units, only 2 units are generating power. The porver plantgeneration is based on the requirement of State Electricity Board.

A. Specific Conditions

Complied.The PA have installed one AmbientAir Quality Monitoring Station tomonitor PM 2.5, PM 10 and the levelsare within the National Ambient AirQuality Standards issued by theMinistry vide G.S.R. No. 826(E)dated 16th November. 2009.
4 Secondary fugitive emissions fromall the sources shall be controlledwithin the latest permissible limitsissued by the Ministry and regularlymonitored. GuidelinesiCode ofPractice issued by the CPCB shallbe followed.
Complied.To control the secondary fugitiveemissions the measures taken are byprovidinga) Closed conveyors for the entirelength and travel of the conveyors forboth Ferro Alloys and Power Plantb) Dust Extraction Systems have beenprovided at all transfer points in thePower Plant.c) The entire raw materials for thePower Plant have been stored underclosed sheds.d) Regular cleaning and maintenancee) Water spraying on all the internalroadsf) Tarpaulin coverage is provided tocover the manganese ore fines.

l The total water requirement shallnot exceed 324m'lday. 'Zero'effluent discharge shall be strictlyfollowed and no wastewater shouldbe discharged outside the premises.Permission from the CompetentAuthority shall be obtained fordrawl of water.
Reler below.The PA informed that the waterrequirement is within the limit.Permission for drawl of water fromSamalkot Canal is obtained from theIrrigation Department of AndhraPradesh. The effluent such as theBoiler blow downs, RO blow downsand WTP blow downs are beingcollected in the tank and therebybeing processed into the ETP whichconsists of UF stage and double stageRO which is recovering 74o/o of thetotal rejects. The balance rejects arebeing used for Ash quenching andcooling of hot metal cakes. ThusZero effluent discharge is beingfollowed. Septic Tanks with soak pitsare provided to the toilets.
8 All the Ferro Alloy slag shall beused for land filling inside the plantor used as building material onlyafter passing through ToxicChemical Leachability Potential(TCLP) test. Otherwise, hazardoussubstances shall be recovered fromthe slag and output waste and bedisposed in secured landfill as per

11 Risk and Disaster Management Planalong with the mitigation measuresshould be prepared and a copysubmitted to the Ministry's RegionalOffice at Bangalore, SPCB andCPCB within 3 months of issue ofenvironment clearance letter.
Complied.The PA informed that Risk andDisaster Management Plan along withthe mitigation measures should beprepared and a copy submitted to theMinistry's Regional Office atBangalore, SPCB and CPCB within 3months of issue of environmentclearance letter.
t2 All the commitments made to thepublic during the PublicHearing/Public Consultationmeeting held on 1't October, 2010should be satisfactorilyimplemented and a separate budgetfor implementing the same shouldbe allocated and informationsubmitted to the Ministry' RegionalOffice at Bansalore.

13 As proposed, green belt should bedeveloped in at least 33% of theproject area. Selection of plantspecies shall be as per the CPCBguidelines in consultation with theDFO.
Complied.As on today, the PA have broughtabout 33o/o of the area under GreenBelt by planting different species inconsultation with the DFO. The PAhave developed their own nursery.The survival rate is about 90%.
t4 At least 5o/o of the total cost of theproject should be earmarkedtowards the corporate socialresponsibility and item-wise detailsalong with time bound action plan(need based) should be prepared andsubmitted to the Ministrv's Reeional

15 The company shall provide housingfor construction labour within thesite with all necessary infrastructureand facilities such as fuel forcooking, mobile toilets, mobile STP,safe drinking water , medical healthcare, creche etc. The housing maybe in the form of temporarystructures to be removed after thecompletion of the project.
Complied.The necessary infrastructure andfacilities such as fuel for cooking,toilets, STP, drinking water, medicalhealth care etc. were provided duringthe construction time to theconstruction labours. The housingwas in the form of temporarystructures and was removed after thecompletion of the project constructionworks.
B. General Conditions

v The overall noise levels in andaround the plant area shall be keptwell within the standards (85 dBA)by providing noise control measuresincluding acoustic hoods, silencers,enclosures etc. on all sources ofnoise generation. The ambient noiselevels should conform to thestandards prescribed under EPARules, 1989 viz.15 dBA (daytime)andl0 dBA (nighttime).
Complied.The overall noise levels in and aroundthe plant area are kept well within thestandards (85 dBA) by providingnoise control measures includingacoustic hoods, silencers, enclosuresetc. on all sources ofnoise generation.The ambient noise levels aremonitored at various locations duringday and night time and as per thereports the levels are within theprescribed standards under EPARules, 1989 viz.l5 dBA (day.time)and 70 dBA (nighttime).

The clearance letter shallalso be put on the web site of theCompany by the proponent.

x1 The project proponent shall uploadthe status of compliance of thestipulated environment clearanceconditions, including results ofmonitored data on their website andshall update the same periodicaily.If shall simultaneously be sent to theRegional Office of the MOEF, therespective Zonal Office of CPCBand the APPCB. The criteriapollutant levels namely; RSPM,SiO2, NO1(ambient levers ad well asstack emissions) or critical sectoralparameters, indicated for theprojects shall be monitored anddisplayed at a convenient location
