Engineering Forms

Winding Data FormsWith EASA’s Winding Data Forms, you can record important winding data for yourrecords while contributing valuable information to EASA’s winding data file. Youbuy an order of data cards (single-phase AC, polyphase AC or DC), which comepadded in two-part sets. As jobs come in for repair, you record the data as usual, keeping one copy for your shop and sending the other to EASA’s rewind data file. When your shop has filled out 600 single-phase or polyphase cards, or 40 DC datasheets, return the copies to EASA. EASA then records your shop’s submissions, andeach time you reach a total of 600 single-phase or polyphase cards, or 40 DC datasheets, EASA will send you a fresh supply of the appropriate type –– free of charge.

AC Form Coil Data SheetAvoid costly mistakes, missing or incorrect data, and communication problemswhen making or ordering new form coils. Begin using EASA’s AC Form Coil DataSheet. This form can be used as a universal replacement for those used by thevarious coil manufacturers. It also assists technicians in recording all the informa-tion needed to produce exact duplicates of the original coils. It’s logically ar-ranged, too. One of the best things about using the AC Form Coil Data Sheet is thatafter you buy one pad (100 sheets to pad), EASA will send you a free replacementpad for each 100 completed data forms you contribute to EASA’s data bank.

Stator Core Test FormsEASA’s Stator Core Test Form allows you to record core test data for your own recordsand to contribute this data to EASA Headquarters’ files. As with EASA’s other freedata card programs, you first purchase an order of Stator Core Test Forms, whichcome padded in two-part sets, complete with carbon paper. As you perform coretests, record the data, keeping one copy for your shop and sending the other toEASA Headquarters. When you’ve completed 40 forms, return them to EASA.EASA then records your shop’s submissions, and each time you send in a total of40 test forms, EASA sends you a fresh supply of two-part forms — free of charge.

Warranty Report FormsEASA’s Warranty Report Forms provide the ideal way to record your warranty serviceaccurately. Many manufacturers request that warranty work be documented on thisform. EASA’s warranty forms come in pads of 100.

Sales Force Compensation ManualEASA’s Sales Force Compensation Manual is designed to help owners and manag-ers of electrical apparatus sales and service companies develop sales compensa-tion plans that will best suit their specific needs and goals. The manual beginsby examining the increasingly important role that professional selling is playingin our industry. It then discusses the unique and difficult job of today’s salesprofessionals –– and what “compensation” means to them. Presented in detailare five Prototype Sales Compensation Plans. Also included are a sample“Corporate Sales Policy” and a “Sales Compensation Model”—both of which aregeared specifically to the needs of EASA member firms.

Safety Resource ManualEASA’s Safety Resource Manual is designed to help you improve safety and reduce lossesin your business. Using the manual can help improve your safety record and reducethe accident- and loss-related costs that can erode your company’s profits. For thosewho don’t have a safety/loss-control program, the manual contains everythingneeded to get started: an overall structure for the program; sample safety and loss-control forms; examples of effective safety policies, procedures and work rules; tips onhow to conduct safety meetings; and a list of safety resources and hotlines.

Management And Sales Training

The Perfect Sales CallJoe Ellers, Director of Palmetto Associates in Clemson, South Carolina, teamed upwith the Association Education Alliance (AEA) and EASA to produce “The PerfectSales Call,” which is geared to distribution sales. The presentation is appropriate forinside and outside sales; the principles apply whether your focus is on products orservices. The program consists of a video and two accompanying guides — a leaderguide for sales managers and a participant guide for salespeople. And the guidesalso come on a floppy disk so that you can make as many copies as you need. Youdon’t have to keep ordering materials because you can print as many as you needfor as long as you want. Your salespeople will even get a checklist to use whenthey’re selling. Of all the sales training programs on the market, very few of themfocus on the most critical element itself: the sales call itself. Quality Assurance And Environmental

EASA-Q Quality Management SystemEASA-Q was created to provide EASA members a practical, cost-effective means ofdeveloping a quality management system. Based on the international ISO 9002-1994 quality standard, EASA-Q is designed so that all electrical apparatus serviceorganizations, both small and large, can use it with minimal assistance. Inexpensiveto implement and operate, EASA-Q can assist in reducing operating costs byhelping to assure consistency –– which often eliminates rework. It also is availablein French Canadian.

EASA Environmental ChecklistThe EASA Environmental Checklist covers these topics: Hazard communication;waste generation; waste disposal; and air and water regulations. The checklist isself-explanatory, although you may need to refer to the applicable regulations tofully understand how to respond to certain questions. References to applicableU.S. federal regulations precede each section. Using the checklist to perform yourown “environmental audit” may be useful in showing authorities a “good faith”effort; it could help reduce your liability if you are cited for environmentalviolations.

Waste Minimization ProgramIn many areas, government officials are trying to minimize the creation of wasterather than just trying to find ways of getting rid of it. With this in mind –– andbecause eliminating waste makes good business sense –– EASA developed theWaste Minimization Program. This booklet outlines the reasons to minimize wasteand the steps you can take to implement a waste minimization program, includ-ing making a waste minimization assessment of your workplace.
