Welcome to Mallow College of FurtherEducation (MCFE) and thank you fortaking time to read through the EveningEducation prospectus for Autumn 2014.Evening Education is the newrebranded department of MCFE, thelargest further education college inNorth Cork. A wide range ofprogrammes are on offer, varying fromaccredited and general interestprogrammes available every Autumnand Spring. The programmes on offerare adapted each term to suit the needsand interests of learners and industry.The programmes enable learners todevelop new skills in a specific areawhich can aid future employments.MCFE values the importance ofeducation and for Autumn 2014 thetheme is “Opening Minds, CreatingFutures”. Paramount to the success ofMCFE is the building of strongrelationships between learners, tutorsand local community groups/organisations. A variety of programmesbeing offered have accreditation by anumber of awarding bodies, the newestof which is The Institute ofIncorporated Public Accountants(IIPA).
The vision for the Evening EducationDepartment is to continue forging linkswith industry and developingprogrammes that aid local industryneeds and create opportunities forlearners to develop new skill sets.
MCFE boosts two campuses with awide variety of modern high qualityfacilities, which creates the idealenvironment for teaching and learning.
We have a number of new programmesavailable for Autumn 2014 and haverevised a number of our existingprogrammes. New programmesinclude: Incorporated PublicAccountant, Manual and ComputerisedPayroll/Bookkeeping, DigitalMarketing, Job Hunting on the Internet,Bridge for Beginners, Garden Design,Occupational First Aid, CreativeWriting, Body Massage, WordProcessing, Tablet for Beginners’ andChildcare level 6 FETAC/QQI.

MCFE boosts 2 campus locations - Mallow College Campus Annabella and DavisCollege Summerhill. Certificates of AttendanceCertificates of Attendance will be provided to learners where a learner has at least 70%attendance on the programme.

AccountingTechnicians can qualify as a professional accountant and auditor by passing eightmodules in as little as two years. Furthermore, Accounting Technicians are eligible toapply to the Institute for registration as a “Certified Finance Professional”. The IIPA hasthe lowest exam/exemption fees.

MCFE facilities courses in Conjunction with the Institute of Public Administration(IPA).The Institute of Public Administration (IPA)—a Recognised College of UniversityCollege Dublin—offers a wide variety of undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications,from certificate-level right through to a Doctorate in Governance. IPA students are adultswho must balance their work and domestic lives.
