Dry ablution is a special permission given by Allah, it represents the easiness of Islam. The situations in which dry ablution is permissible: A person who is in a state of minor or major ritual impurity may perform dry ablution whether he is travelling or not in any of the following situations: 1. Dry ablution (Tayammum) and wiping over footwear

First: Dry ablution (Tayammum)

Definition of dry ablution (Tayammum): Wiping the face & hands with clean earth in a specific manner while having the intention to do so. Dry ablution is a special permission given by Allah, it represents the easiness of Islam.

Second: Wiping over Footwear

Description of wiping over footwear:

Things that nullify wiping over footwear:

1. End of the permitted period for wiping over.2. Being in a state of major ritual impurity.3. Removing the footwear that was wiped over.

Textbook pg. no. 106:

There is a fixed period for wiping over socks; 1 day and a night for the resident & 3 days and nights for a traveler.

A person who has done wudoo and then worn socks he may wipe over it in next wudoo instead of washing the feet again. Starting with the right foot then left.
