canbeusedasatimerforanypurpose.

To set your bezel :

1.Turnyourbezelbyhandcounter-clockwiseandaligntheredmarkerat60

withtheminutehand(g1.)

2.Astheminutehandmoves,itwillcountupagainstthetimeonthebezel.Aslongasthebezelisnotmoved,youcanreadtheelapsedtime(upto60

shootingpleasereadon.Thisisintendedasasimpleprimertohelp

youunderstandtheHorusVisionsoftware.Itisnotareplacementfor

trainingandthesafehandlingofrearms.

Inorderforthe5.11HRTwatchtocalculateyourbulletstrajectory

correctly,thesoftwareneedstoknowsomespecicsaboutyourscope,rieandcartridge.Thissegmentwillbrieyexplainhowand

whythesespecicsaffectyourbulletstrajectory.

Temperature:Asairtemperatureincreases,airdensitydecreases.Andasairdensitydecreasesitofferslessresistanceagainstyourbullets

ightwhichcanaffectthebulletspointofimpact.TheTemperature

youinputintothewatchshouldbeaccuratewithin10or15degreesto

theconditionsinwhichyouwillbeshooting.

Bore Height:(Alsocalledscopeheight)isthedistancebetweenthecenterofyourboreandthecenterofyourscope.Itisexpressedas

inchesandtenths,eg.1.7inches.Itisnottheheightofyourrings.

Yourscopeshouldbemountedaslowaspossibletothebarrel,but

nottouching.Ifyouareinterestedinextremelylongranges(past600

yards)youmayalsorequireacantedscopebase.

Ballistic Coefcient:Thisistheefciencyofthebulletasittravelsthroughspace.Thisinformationisavailableforpopularmatchtype

bulletsfromqualitybulletmanufacturers.Itistypicallyexpressed

like.533.Somemanufacturersprovidethisgurefordifferentbullet

velocities.Selecttheonethatmostcloselymatchesyourrie

loadsmuzzlevelocity.ManybulletmanufacturersposttheBallistic

Coefcientforeachbulletontheirwebsitemakingtheinternetagreatresourceforthisdata.

Muzzle Velocity:Thisisthespeedatwhichthebulletleavesthebarrelofyourrie.Thisnumberistheaverageofaseriesofbullets

redthroughachronograph.Typicallyagroupof10shotsprovidesa

goodaverage.ThatnumberisexpressedinFPS,orFeetPerSecond.

Forexamplealong-rangetargetloadcanhaveamuzzlevelocityof

approximately3000FPS.Reloadingmanualsareagreatresourcefor

learningmoreaboutbulletandcartridgecharacteristics.

Zero Range:Thisistherangeatwhichyouhavezeroedyourrie.Thisrangeistypically100or200yards.
