How We Express Ourselves 5 Essential Elements Transdisciplinary Learning Concepts Skills Learner Profile and Attitudes Action Knowledge Form Perspective Learners will develop an awareness of themselves and how similar and different they are to others. Students will express feelings, ideas, experiences, and beliefs in a variety of ways. Communication: Viewing, Presenting, and Non-verbal Communication Thinking: Comprehension, Dialectical Thought, and Metacognition Students will be able to express themselves (their identity) through a range of different art forms. Students will view and interpret others’ artwork. Important Dates Unit Vocabulary Mathematics Shape and Space : Students will learn about patterns as well as 2D and 3D shapes. Language Arts Reading : Students will learn the reading strategy of visualization as well as learning about good reading habits. Writing : Students will explore poetry and inquire into different poetry features. Additionally, students will have opportunities to explore expressing opinions through writing. Viewing and Creating: Students will gain experience viewing a range of artistic modes and will have chances to create their own artistic expressions. Listening and Speaking : Students will think and talk about their own and other’s artwork.
