ITINERARY – please note we sometimes may vary timings but include all of below

Day 1 Arrive at 9.30am at our high country farming property that’s been in the Watson family for many generations.

After saddling up, we set off on our ‘Man from Snowy River’ experience on horseback. We ride up to spectacular 360 degree

views and along the way, watch out for the wildlife that often takes a look at us, including kangaroos, wallabies and Australia’s

largest bird of flight, the wedge tail eagle. We visit the jump

scene from the Man from Snowy River movie.

We stop at our bush hut for lunch and then in the afternoon we traverse the bridle tracks through the gullies and valleys to our

accommodation at Riverhouse. Enjoy the evening overlooking

the Howqua River and a relaxed dinner with our regional produce hamper supplied by our local Mansfield Regional

Produce Store.

Day 2: Breakfast is supplied in the house and then we ride up the

Howqua River Trail and carry our lunch in saddle bags. We criss

cross the Howqua River up to Wares Flat. Here we stay riverside in a cabin that was the site for the Ware family farmhouse

dating back to 1800’s when they farmed the land to feed gold miners. We enjoy a BBQ dinner as we watch the sun go down

over the river.

Day 3: A relaxing sleep in then a day of relaxation where we explore the historic Howqua Hills area including, Tobacco Flat,

Whisky Flat ‘Professors Hut’ and Fred Fry’s Hut on horse back before returning to Wares Flat for the afternoon to enjoy the

serenity.

Day 4: Today we trek along the Howqua Feeder Track looking

over the Howqua River and make our way to Running Creek Reserve where we are met by horse and human transport to

finish our ride. We then travel together to the Mansfield Produce Store to enjoy lunch before departure.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

• How many guests can take part?

The tour requires a minimum of 6 guests to depart and it only caters for a maximum of 12 guests. This ensures all guests receive a more intimate and personal

experience.

• How much riding do we do? Generally we ride for up to 5 hours on the day 1 and 2 and 3 hours on day 3 and 4.

• When is the best time of the year to do the tour?

The best season is from September to May but we do offer the ride all year round.
