The product line Scharmann presents
with ALPHA a trend setting new line
of universal horizontal machining cen-
ters.
Starting with a pallet size of 800 x
800 mm the new ALPHA line is a plat-
form for multiple adaptable machining
technologies. The new concept combi-
nes many new design details that pro-
vide superior results and impressive
dynamic performances.
The new chip disposal concept for the
ALPHA line gives the user the possibility
to choose between wet and dry machi-
ning. With the standard version for wet
machining the chip flow is directed
through generous chip guide chutes and
a chip conveyor. With the version for the
wet and dry machining a second chipconveyor is integrated in the machine.
The machine X-axis bed is enclosed with
45°inclined telescopic covers, that ensu-
res the chips are guided to the conveyor
at each side of the covers ensuring the
best chip disposal is guaranteed.

The same interface at the column for all types of
headstocks allows a flexible use of the machine.

Drive and guide bar concept
Traditional concept:
Guideway and drive are too far from tool.
New ALPHA concept:
The drive is in an optimized position to
the tool and near the center of gravity of
the column. The guideway is as close as
possible to the tool.

with a variety of head attachments.
Stored in a pick-up magazine the
number of machining operations can
be extended per workpiece without
new set-ups.
Various head attachments are
available:

The HEAVYSPEED line is equipped with a
complete safety concept. All working
areas can be individually protected to
suite the machining process.
The HEAVYSPEED was designed for
machining large and heavy workpieces.
Through machining tables in various sizes
and versions, floor plates, and special
solutions like trunnion devices the
HEAVYSPEED line can be adapted to the
specifications of the workpiece.
