Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Morning English Reading - A Complex sentence combines a dependent clause and an independent clause. For example- “I like to eat the candy before I watch a movie.” The independent clause ‘I like to eat candy’ can be a sentence on its own. English Reading - From the next chapter of the text that you are reading, write down all the words that you can find that use an apostrophe (‘). List the words and note whether they are a possessive apostrophe (someone owns something- like Sara’s shoe), or a contraction apostrophe (like it’s a hard day- where the it’s stands for it is). English Reading - From the text that you are reading, consider 5 questions that you could ask to determine whether someone had read the book. Ensure that the questions that you ask require more than a ‘yes’ or a ‘no’ answer. English Reading - An adjective describes a noun. From the book that you are reading, find 10 adjectives. Create a complex sentence using at least 3 of these adjectives. English Reading - Draw your favourite character from a book that you are reading, or have read. Write down three pieces of information that the author has given about this character, in the book. Provide an explanation of why this character is your favourite character. Brain Break This game has only one rule: keep the balloon off the floor! Challenge yourself to keep the balloon or beach ball afloat using only hands, feet, or even heads. At home we call it “keepy uppy” like from Bluey. Good luck! Brain Break Put a paper/plastic plate or magazine on your head and walk across the room. Time how long you can keep the plate on your head for. Make it harder by trying to walk on your tippy toes. Brain Break Stand up. Move your right foot in a clockwise circle. Simultaneously write the number 6 in the air with your right pointer finger. Repeat this pattern several times and then switch to the other foot and hand. Try reversing the motions to counter-clockwise and the number 9. Repeat step 5 and spell out your name at the same time. Brain Break Hold left hand out in front, with fingers pointing up to the ceiling. Slowly trace your hand with your right finger, starting where your hand and wrist meet. As you trace each finger, breathe in as your finger climbs up each finger and breathe out as your finger slides down. Then switch hands. Brain Break Stand up. Place you right hand across the body to the left knee as you raise it. Do the same thing for the left hand on the right knee as if you were marching. Do this for 2 minutes
