DEAR HOLY FAMILY PARISHIONERS: THANK YOU to all those from the parish who re-membered my birthday, #61! I appreciate the cards, calls, emails, texts, gifts, goodies, prayers, & all the rest. You helped my special day to be extra-special! AND, thank you to those who sent cards, gifts, prayers, & well-wishes to my mom on her 94th birthday! She had a smile on her face from your kindness. And because she smiled, so did I! ______________________________ Speaking of special----we are blessed as Catholics to have the most special gift given by which to remember Jesus. Yes, you guessed it----THE EUCHARIST. EACH DAY of this coming week we have Mass celebrated here at Holy Family. EACH DAY of this coming week there is the opportunity to receive the Body & Blood of Christ. EACH DAY of this coming week Jesus will be pre-sent on the altar to nourish us with Himself fully & com-pletely. EACH DAY of this coming week the Word of God will be opened at Mass, showing us what the Lord calls us to be & how we are to act. EACH DAY of this coming week we can gather to pray the greatest prayer of the Church---the Mass. What can be more special than that? See how NOT DULL this week is? See how our parish is exciting daily? I ask you to do one thing. Look at the announcement at the bottom. You will see that it says----INVITE SOMEONE BACK TO MASS! Let’s do that. Not just think it would be a nice thing to do or that it sounds so wonderful. LET’S DO IT!!!! Let’s do what Deacon Rob called us to do last week in his homily. The Lord is waiting for you to ask. The Lord wants them here to celebrate. The Lord desires His faithful to be active in their lives of faith. And we can be the agents of that message. Will we? Let’s get to work & help fill the pews of Holy Family Church with more worshipers. One more thing for me to say: SEE YOU IN CHURCH AT MASS!! ----FATHER JOE

ST. TERESA H.S. OPEN HOUSE: St. Teresa wel-comes all 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th graders, transfer students from other high schools, and their parents to visit us dur-ing our Open House on Tuesday, October 24th at 5:30 p.m. This is an opportunity to meet with our faculty and staff, explore our facilities, and learn about our college-prep academic programs and extra-curricular activities. MARK YOUR CALENDARS for Nov. 9th at 6:30 p.m, at OLOL for the production of “Fr. Augustus Tolton.” He is the African-American priest in the 1860’s era who was in Quincy, & he is on the track to sainthood. His life story is very interesting. Don’t miss this event!

ANNUAL CATHOLIC SERVICES APPEAL: Have you given generously to the Annual Catholic Services Appeal yet? If not, PLEASE do so for the good of the Springfield Diocese & for the good of Holy Family Parish. Why? Because we have to pay the assessed goal of $80,088. It will either come from our contri-butions outright to this worthy cause, or it will come from our General Fund. We can help our budget by NOT having to make up a deficit amount from our “regular monies.” ALL OF US can help meet the goal. And remember----any monies donated to the ACSA that exceed our assessment are returned to us!!!

BRAVO to Grace Lees, Joleigh Kostenski, Bradley Vandercar, & Jackson Habrock from HFCS who went to State last weekend for Cross Country. We are so proud of them!
