  • CELESTRON ANSWERED

In the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, Celestron employees came together to deliver much-needed personal protective equipment to local medical workers. We used our Engineering department’s in-house 3D printer to produce face shields for a nearby hospital.

“It’s great to think that Celestron and our employees can take part in the fight against the coronavirus and help to protect our health care workers,” said CEO Corey Lee.

The Goldilocks BinocularNot too big, not too small. Big on light gathering ability, but still portable. Does the “Goldilocks binocular” actually exist? We asked our Product Manager for Sport Optics, John Riutta, for his take on the ideal all-around binocular.

“If you have only one binocular in your arsenal, make it an 8x42.” John said. “The 8x magnification is great for everything from bird watching to stadium event viewing. The 42mm objective lenses allow plenty of light to pass through to the eye for bright and detailed images. But it’s still compact enough to carry around your neck or hold in your hands without the aid of a tripod. Keep one on hand for travel, watching birds at your backyard feeder, and even a quick look at the Moon and planets on a clear night.”
