EARLY START PROGRAM (ESP)

• Students must begin their remediation the summer before their fall enrollment at a CSU through ESP.

• Initial determination of expected participation in ESP will be done via SAT/ACT or EAP scores.

• ELM/EPT, if required, must be taken as early as possible (no later than May) to officially determine participation in ESP.

• Information on a student’s requirement to take ESP or placement exams (EPT & ELM) is available on their Smart Page at https://my.fresnostate.edu.

• Students will notify Fresno State of how they will complete their required ESP participation after they accept their admission to Fresno State.

• Students may complete ESP at Fresno State, other CSUs, or CCCs.
