HEIInnovative Solutions for Maintenance & Repair

Helping you repair and prevent damage caused by abrasion,

erosion, corrosion, chemical and environmental attack

Innovative Solutions for

Maintenance and Repair

• Mechanical Equipment Repair• Repair, lining and coating of pipes & valves• Repair and protection of pumps• Repair and protection of concrete• Seamless floor systems• Non-skid (positive grip) systems• Hygenic Wall Systems

Mechanical Equipment RepairsAdvantages to Polymeric Repair Systems

• No heat distortion, stress or metallurgical changes to substrate material.• Our materials are based on resilient resin systems which allow the same

product to be used on multiple substrates. This also makes our materials able to withstand vibration, impact and thermal movement better than other systems.

• Effective on any substrate (aluminum, cast iron, stainless steel, wood fiberglass …..…)

• No special equipment required.• Easy application• Can be done in place• Minimal downtime• Cost effective

Mechanical Equipment RepairsShaft Repairs – Machined

Rebuilding product is applied while the part is in the chuck. After it sets up (about 2 hours) it is machined back to size.

Mechanical Equipment RepairsShaft Repairs – Using the Former ( split sleeve) Technique

Shaft is damaged, disassembly is difficult or impractical. Repair in place is attractive.Remove old bearing. Prep the shaft with grinders.

Machine a split sleeve. The I/D of the sleeve is to be the same as the O/D of the shaft. Weep holes are drilled in the sleeve . Release agent is applied to sleeve. Rebuilding material is applied to both shaft and sleeve and sleeve is clamped in place.

Once the material has cured ( 2 to 4 hours), the sleeve is removed. Parting lines and nubs from the weep holes are cleaned up with emery cloth and the shaft is ready for reassembly.

Mechanical Equipment RepairsSplined shafts

This is a common and valuable repair. Release agent is used on the female side.

Similar to the key-way repair, this will often out last a replacement part.

Page 8: Hei Presentation 1

Mechanical Equipment RepairsKey-way Repair

Key-ways become wallowed out by the transfer of energy from the driver to the driven. The metal of the shaft is mallable and opens over time with impact. The high performance epoxy / urethane repair material absorbs the energy and returns to maintain 100% contact with the key. This is an excellent repair.

Mechanical Equipment RepairsHydraulic Rams

The hardest thing about a hydraulic ram repair is deciding to grind on the shiny

ram. We have to make the gouge deeper and wider in order to fix it. This is a very durable repair.

Page 10: Hei Presentation 1

Mechanical Equipment RepairsBearing Housings

Bearing housings are damaged when a bearing fails and rotates in the housing

The repair is simply a matter of replacing the lost material and machining back to proper size.

This repair can also be made by forming the fit with a dummy bearing and release agent.

Piping & Valves

Emergency Leak Repair

Leaks occur without warning and never at a good time or place. Our materials allow for quick, durable repairs that can get you to the next outage or, in many cases are permanent repairs.

Page 13: Hei Presentation 1

Piping & Valves

Valve RepairCorrosion, abrasion and general wear can be repaired and prevented. Valve seats can be repaired with excellent results.

Piping & Valves

We have excellent materials for lining pipes as well as for exterior protection

Pumps

• Nearly 25% of industrial electricity demand comes from industrial motor systems

• Over 50% of pump life cycle costs result from energy and maintenance expense

• Less than 15% of pump life cycle costs are initial purchase costs

• Energy savings of 20% or more are possible with systems optimization

Page 16: Hei Presentation 1

Pumps

Pump repair and optimization are a major focus for our business. With 30 years of experience in pumps and related equipment, we can help you trouble shoot and resolve many pump problems.

Page 17: Hei Presentation 1

Pumps

Pump repairs can be done in house by your personnel or off site in our approved pump shops. We provide training and support for every application.

Page 18: Hei Presentation 1

Concrete Repair

Concrete is considered a permanent construction material and yet it is constantly degraded by exposure to the environment, movement of the earth and man made stress. We have a variety of materials designed to make durable repairs to all types of concrete structures.

Concrete ProtectionChemical Containment

We offer a broad range of specialty coating for primary and secondary chemical containment of both acids and caustic in high concentrations. Almost any industrial chemical can be addressed by our range of product.

Page 21: Hei Presentation 1

Seamless Floor SystemsWe offer a broad range of seamless floor systems. Water based, solvent free, 100% Solids, epoxy and polyurethane based systems are all available.

We will work with you to select the right system for your specific application.

These systems are safe and easy to use. They can be applied by in house crews or by our approved contractors. We provide on-site training and technical support for everything we sell.

Page 22: Hei Presentation 1

Non-SkidPositive Grip Systems

By incorporating an appropriate aggregate into our resin systems, we can create positive grip systems for a variety of purposes.

The rolls above are coated with Metal-Tech FG and then aluminium oxide grit is applied to provide positive grip on these break testing rolls. The same system is applied to lumber mill rolls for more efficient movement of lumber thru the mill.

Non-skid aggregate can be added to any one of our floor systems to produce greater traction where it is needed.

Additional Areas We Can Help With

• Roof Repairs / Water Penetration Issues

• Hygienic Wall and Floor Systems

• Exterior Coatings for Tanks and Structural Steel
