GM’s ForumLonnie Eberhard The Gulf Harbour Triad Two years ago, the Gulf Harbour Triad (Country Club, Master Association, & Marina) was formed. These three organi-zations, since then, have been working to-gether for the common goal of maintaining Gulf Harbour as the best Yacht & Country Club Community in Southwest Florida.

Your current Gulf Harbour Triad Commit-tee members are Ron Marcotte, Marshall Hughes, John Ayotte, Rod Middleton, Dana Snyder, John Foye, Lisa Price, Jacquelyn Kelley, Bob Ladner, and Lonnie Eberhard.

In the first meeting with these new com-mittee members, each spoke with open communications to set goals and objectives for the upcoming year.

In the following meeting, Members dis-cussed what all three organizations could do collaboratively to benefit the communi-ty. One important element is sharing costs which could reduce the overall costs to the residents and/or Members.

Dues Schedule and Pertinent Information

By now you should have received your billing statement for the month of May. This May 31st statement will also include billing of 2013-2014 Dues and Capital Contributions, for the upcom-ing six-month period, July 1st through December 31st, 2013. Payment for this statement is due by June 30th.

Members who have other annual fees or charges such as Trail Fees, Golf Lockers, Club Storage or Hole-in-One Program, will con-tinue to pay those in January.

Provided to the right is a table of the upcoming fiscal year’s Dues, Capital Contribution, and Fees. The three columns on the right side right of the table lists the due dates and amounts that Members can expect to be billed in the up-coming fiscal year. The table also shows the amounts paid in this current year as a comparison.

Since the May statement that you received arrived a little later than usual, a grace period of 10 days has been added to ensure you have time to arrange payment. The May 31st statement, which is due by June 30th, will not be con-sidered delinquent until after July 11th.

For those with automatic pay-ments, either through their bank

or credit card, see below: **** Credit Card Payments ****If you normally have your bal-ance automatically charged to your credit card on June 10th for your May statement balance and upcoming dues, that charge is be-ing deferred until 8:00 a.m. on Friday, June 28th. This is done to give you ample time to pay by check if you wish to avoid the credit card fees that are associ-ated with paying your Dues and Capital Contributions by credit card. **** ACH Payments ****If you normally have your bal-ance withdrawn from your

checking account via ACH on June 10th for your May statement balance and upcoming dues, that ACH transaction will be moved back a week and will take place on Monday, June 17th.

If you have any questions about your upcoming dues billing or would like to pay by check prior to Friday, June 28th, either stop by the Accounting Office or con-tact Valerie O’Loughlin at (239) 444-3656 or via email at [email protected].

Thank you, Alan Schwartzman Chief Financial Officer

I ran across this saying in our recent travels to the West Coast and I’d like to share it with you here: “Today is a gift, that is why they call it the present.”

For those of you away from Gulf Harbour for the summer as well as those of us here year round, but perhaps doing some traveling, enjoy your summer months and all the new courses you may experience. Harvey Penick was quoted as saying, “What a beautiful place a golf course is.” From the meanest country pasture to the Pebble Beaches and St. Au-gustines of the world, a golf course is to me a holy ground. I feel God in the trees and grass and flowers, in the rabbits and the birds and the squirrels, in the sky and the water. I feel that I am home.” ENJOY!Dottie Post

Dear Members-

As most of you make your way home for the summer, your Gulf Harbour family is getting geared up for the long, hot and humid summer.

We already experienced our first tropical storm this year, Andrea, and apart from some long days of wet and depressing weather there’s no dam-age to report. The timing of the storm couldn‘t have been better, as it coin-cided withour USPTA (United States Profes-sional Teaching Association) conven-tion. Since we weren’t able to teach for several days, what better way to spend our time than improving and sharp-ening our skills as professionals.

Tennis NewsThree of your four pros took the drive across the state to attend the convention. We learned a lot and will put this new knowledge to work in the upcoming months. The month of June isn’t just synonymous with rain, it also means it’s time for us to get ready for theFlorida Open tournament com-ing to town in three weeks. Once again GH will be the stage for some great junior tennis, hosting some of the top competitors in the nation.

We are also getting ready to hold our Fourth of July firecracker event. So, if you have not signed up yet, hurry!!!

We hope you’re all safe and those

racquets are still swinging this sum-mer.

Best,Frenchy

Fitness News

Happy Summer! There are a few changes to the fitness calendar to note …•Pilates on Thursday morning is now starting at 10:00am, instead of 11:15am•On the Ball on Monday mornings will end at 9:45am•Morning Stretch on Monday mornings will begin at 9:45am•Morning Stretch classes on Monday and Tuesday will now incorporate basic balance work.•Light and Easy classes will not be offered this summer. We look forward to resuming Light and Easy closer to season.•Line Dancing will not be offered between June 14 – July 12. Class will resume July 19.

If a class is able to attract at least 4 participants consistently, it will remain on the schedule. For those classes that may drop below 4 people in attendance, they will be flagged. If low attendance continues for 3 weeks in a row, the class will be removed from the schedule. We understand this is more likely to occur over the summer as many Members leave. However, we do recognize the need for diversity of classes and if a dropped class had high attendance in season, we will be happy to add it to the schedule once season returns.

Have a wonderful summer and if you’re staying with us, we hope to see you at the Fitness Center!
