Committee Introduction :- The National Service Scheme (NSS) is an Indian government-sponsored public service program conducted by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India. Popularly known as NSS, the scheme was launched in Gandhiji's Centenary year, 1969. Aimed at developing student's personality through community service, NSS is a voluntary association of young people in Colleges, Universities Aims :- The programme aims to inculcate social welfare in students, and to provide service to society without bias. NSS volunteers work to ensure that everyone who is needy gets help to enhance their standard of living and lead a life of dignity. In doing so, volunteers learn from people in villages how to lead a good life despite a scarcity of resources. it also provides help in natural and man-made disasters by providing food, clothing and first aid to the disaster victims. 1.     1. Name of the committee : National Service Scheme (N.S.S.) Committee

    Introduction :-

    3. Activities Conducted (A) The college NSS Unit regurly conducted extension activity in the college and

    adopting village at Nagazari Ta Higna Dist Nagpur-

    Awareness Program /rallies (Drug, Tobacco, HIV AIDS, Beti Bachao, Health &

    Hygine, Voter Awarness /Traffic Awareness Campus etc.

    Cleanliness drives throught shramdan/Swachcha Bharat Abyhiyan

    Plantation inside and outside campus

    Nag river claning campaign

    Building barrage for water conservation

    Blood donation camps

    Apart from this college has adopted Nagazari village in Higna Tahasil (25 Kms

    from city) which has 85% tribal population where it engages in community

    service and conduct various awareness programs.

    Donation two Computer, School Bags, Sports, Articles, Books, CD to Z.P school

    Nagazari at adopted village.

    Social awareness program for people adopted village.

    (B) Activities to promote good citizenship

    Daily rendition of the national anthem

    Awareness Rally against corruption in the wake of Anna Hazare’s campaign in

    2010

    Conduct of Voters Awareness Programmes ahead of general/state elections

    Conduct of Programmes on the National Days

    Organization of essay/elocution competitions on anniversaries of great people

    Conduct of Programmes on Savidhan Diwas and Population Day

    Contribution to relief funds by staff and students

    Participation in Digital India, Swachha Bharat Abhiyan, Jagar Janiv and other

    such government promoted programmes

    We aim for the all-round development of the students.

    Contribution to relief funds by students

    Visits/donations to Vriddhashrams and Orphanages

    Contribution to Flag day Relief Fund

    Clothes/blanckets for Kashmir flood victims

    Traffic Awareness Programmes at the law college /G.S. College Square

    Voter Awarness Programes of the college level in the collaboration with the

    government/ Election Commission have lead to larger voters registration and

    voters turnout especially by college students

    We also have won the seconde prize at district level for the Best Traffic Awarness

    Progremme as declared by the SP, Nagpur (Rural) for 2013-14
