Assisted integration team and partner healthcare organization with the development of first live orders interface between two Epic Systems. This included the development of orders messaging triggers to provide PPID workflows for both hospitals and maintain two distinct production systems.

Developed production cutover/deployment plan for Beaker Program that required 5 minutes of system downtime and 2 hours of order message downtime to minimize production impact. Plan included two Epic systems, multiple ancillary systems, vendor upgrades, and 32 new interface deployments.

Led deployment migration of all data for multiple systems through transparent deployment plan ahead of timed schedule.

Developed Beaker deployment support plan for 3 weeks support with agreements for command center support from each affect Epic Module and IT application team.

Epic Orders Consultant Sep 2012 to Oct 2013Support and enhancement design for the Epic 2012 environment for single hospital system with multiple clinics. Provision of expertise in testing design, clinical workflow adjustment, efficiency in meeting lean build, support care, and incident prevention. Analysis of current build state and provision of future state models to better meet regulatory requirements and provide super-standard care.

Key Experience: Led orderset procedure review of all ordersets within the system to meet current clinical standards as

well as improve efficiency in build. Coordinated efforts between multiple teams to improve change management during the orderset implementation over a four month period to ensure that proper communication and training was provided from the applications teams to the client.

Redesigned on-call support for the inpatient tower after removal of offshore personnel. New design improves response time and support accuracy as well as improves prioritization of issues by the on-call staff. Provided training and future training documentation for support staff to include incidents, order transmittal, fax, and e-prescribe support.

Led design and implementation for Epic’s enhanced after visit summary to improve patient perception of care from client as well as improve accuracy of after visit documentation to meet demands of regulatory requirements and to meet demands of a new standard set by client leadership. OCHSNER HEALTH SYSTEMS – NEW ORLEANS, LA Dec 2010 to May 2012Epic Application Coordinator Dec 2010 to May 2012Design and implementation for a three year deployment of Epic for eight hospitals and over thirty clinical facilities. Analysis and re-engineering of clinical and business processes to suit a new electronic health record and consolidation of practice standards to a singular model. Redesign and fully test the Epic system to suit decided clinical and business workflows.

Key Experience: Took charge of laboratory and blood bank integrated workgroup after previous lead was removed during

middle of build phase five months before deployment. Redesigned entire laboratory build with 99.2%

accuracy in primary mapped record testing for procedures and results to three different laboratory systems. Re-engineered all inpatient workflows to fit hospitals with different integrated lab systems. Redesigned blood bank procedures and workflows to provide full matching at hospitals with the main laboratory information system and partial matching for the hospital with Cerner Classic laboratory information system.

Analyzed and built point of care testing for entire system. Provided build and workflows for interfaced point of care with PWEB and Cerner systems. Designed quality control measures to fit our hospital needs and force documentation of quality control on tests specified by lab and nursing.
