Reflections on Gospel Reading as it Applies to Stewardship

We made reference to Jesus’ words in the Gospel, but He had more to

say. The full reading is, “Come to me, all you who labor and are bur-

dened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from

me, for I am meek and humble of heart; and you will find rest for your-

selves. For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.” Jesus does not say

that we can merely hand our burdens to Him. He does assure us that He

will share them with us. We are called to discipleship, and part of that is

a willingness to learn, and to follow. Jesus had the heart of a servant,

and we are called to seek a similar role. Sharing our burdens with the

Lord is a gift offered to us, and it will be indeed rest for our souls. What

makes the burden light or lighter is the fact that Jesus bears it with us,

but we must be willing to offer it to Him and accept His help.

FLEA MARKET 2017 - SEPT. 15-16 WE NEED YOUR DONATIONS. Our storage units are available for all of your donations. Getting them to us sooner, rather than later, would be greatly appreci-ated. Contact Kathy in the office, Sue Hughes (404.401.6141) or Debi Slaughter (770.380.6137) for more information. Retrouvaille In marriage, communication is more than just talking. At some point, did you stop sharing about the things that were important to you? Did your spouse? Improving a marriage takes time and a conscious effort to learn about your spouse. Growing closer in a marriage does not happen automatically. Retrouvaille is a marriage program dedicated to helping couples grow closer and develop a stronger bond. You give your heart and soul to everything you do, be-tween your work and your family. Are you giving your heart and soul to your marriage? Sometimes the distance between a husband and a wife can seem so wide that it cannot be repaired. Retrouvaille is a marriage program designed to bring couples closer together. For more information about our upcoming Retrouvaille Weekend, July 28th – 30th, 2017 program for couples, contact: Zack & Heather @ 317-691-2258 or visit our website: HelpOurMarriage.com
